Gifts Today magazine

About Us

Starting its life 130 years ago as The Pottery Gazette in Stoke-on-Trent, today Tableware International is still the only truly international trade magazine that serves the tableware industry worldwide.

Tableware International is published by Lema Publishing Ltd, who bought the title from the Daily Mail Group in January 2007. The Lema Publishing family of business-to-business magazines includes other titles such as Gifts Today, Toys'n'Playthings, Greetings Today and Licensing Today Worldwide.

Tableware International has a quality distribution of 15.054 magazines to the world's foremost retailers and retail buyers in 96 countries, in addition to manufacturers, importers and distributors.

Currently published six times a year, the magazine is focused on bringing together a structured mix of regular industry news; exhibition updates and new product to the market, supported by product features and trade show previews. We aim to equip readers with the newest product to market and the most up to date exhibition information to enable them to navigate the shows with ease for their all-important buying opportunities.

It is essential reading for anyone wishing to be at the cutting edge of the Tableware market, and remains the only title of its type with a true international focus.

Lema Publishing Ltd was established in 1981 by toy trade publishing veteran, Malcolm Naish. His first launch was Toys 'n' Playthings magazine, which quickly became a must-read trade publication for the UK toy industry. Now, almost three decades later, Toys 'n Playthings is still going strong and is a brand leader in its sector.

Fast forward to 2010 and Lema now has nine b2b titles in its portfolio and Malcolm is still helping drive the business forward.

In 1989 Gifts Today was launched against the two established gift titles, both of which ceased trading within two years. In 2009 'Gifts' celebrated the twentieth anniversary of its launch.

As regular exhibitors at the Harrogate Christmas & Gift show each January, Lema spotted a niche for Christmas decorations and outdoor lighting and in 1990 launched Christmas in January. Published just twice a year it is the only UK trade magazine covering this specialist market.

In May 1997 Nursery Today was launched as a specialist read for the baby product market. It has grown to become a leader in its field.

Following the publication of a special one-off party title in 1999 to celebrate the turn of the century, Lema decided to launch Party Party as a specialist magazine for the party and fancy dress industry. Now a brand leader in this niche market the title continues to highlight all that's good in the party market and is published bi-monthly.

2007 saw Lema Publishing acquire three new titles. Along with Tableware International, Lema acquired  'Licensing Today Worldwide', a quarterly international magazine for the fast moving world of licensing, and 'Art Buyer', an annual publication for providers and buyers of licensed artwork for all manner of products.

'Picture Business' was the last title to be acquired by the company from Emap plc. Published six times a year, the magazine is read by art galleries and art framing shops primarily within the UK.

All of Lema's titles circulate primarily to retail store operators including, the major buyers within those industries. Our key titles are members of the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
