The Two-Day Event Attracts Nearly 380 International Business Leaders
Nearly 380 business leaders from 24 countries are taking part in the 11th Hong Kong Forum, which opened this morning at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and continues through 2 December.
The two-day Forum is the annual flagship event of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide. Launched in 2000, the Federation is a network of 33 Hong Kong business associations counting more than 10,000 members in 34 countries and regions.
The Forum provides up-to-date business and market information on Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and the rest of Asia and region. It also offers Federation members business opportunities and contacts through its wide-ranging programme of panel discussions, thematic workshops, networking sessions and optional visits.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, HKTDC Executive Director Fred Lam said that Hong Kong is "the world's gateway" to China, "the country that has generated the longest, highest rates of economic growth in history." He added that the Chinese mainland's 12th Five-Year Programme "underlines the Central Government's commitment to reinforcing and enhancing Hong Kong's role as an international financial, trade and shipping centre."
