108th Canton Fair draws to a close

Yesterday marked the end of Phase Two of the 108th Canton Fair, China’s largest trade fair.

 Phase two of the event, which ran from 23- 27th October 2010 features all Tabletop-relevant sectors such as Ceramics, Art Ceramics, Kitchenware and Houseware. 

Phase One of the show (15t-19th October) focuses on Machinery, Electrical and Electronic products, and Phase Three will now run from 31st October – 4th November casting the spotlight on textiles, garments and fashion accessories.

Tableware visitors to phase two of the show will have viewed product from three main categories: Consumer Goods, Gifts and Home Decoration, spilt over 16 different exhibition sections.

Although final attendance figured have not been released for Phase Two, Phase 1 of the colossal trade fair reports a slight dip in buyer attendance, yet an increase of 12.3% in business turnover than the previous year.  

The show is incomparable to another other in the world in sheer size, with a total of 1.13 million square meters of exhibition space, with a total of 57’136 stands in total. The previous edition of the show earlier this year reported a total of 203’996 visitors from a total of 212 countries and regions across the world.
