41 MADISON PREVIEW: Capdeco
French flatware company Capdeco will bring lots to the table in the BIA Cordon Bleu showroom at the upcoming April edition of The New York Tabletop Show. We preview some of the unveilings below...
Capdeco is a French family-owned cutlery business. The Froment family started its subcontracting business in the cutlery industry – polishing and sharpening knives – in 1963 in Thiers, the French capital of the cutlery industry and where knives have been made for more than six centuries.
With such know-how and expertise under its French flatware belt, Philippe Froment, the second generation of cutler, set up the Capdeco brand in 2002, now a designer and manufacturer of flatware.
Boasting some 30 collections, Capdeco is not only known for its high-quality 18/10 stainless steel cutlery, with the best possible thickness of 25/10, but for its imaginative and innovative mix of materials, from acrylic to wood. Attention to detail is key for Capdeco, which incorporates a brass join in all its pieces.
Representing Capdeco in the US is distributor BIA Cordon Bleu, which will present the latest collections from Capdeco at the show, including the new 2015 Doric Collection (pictured) and City Collection. Inspired by Greek architecture, Doric delivers stunning crystal-like transparent handles. BIA Cordon Bleu will also display Conty, Mercure, as well as testing the Tortoise finish with reps and stores.
Find Capdeco at BIA Cordon Bleu on the 3rd floor of 41 Madison.
