41 Madison preview: Gibson

During the upcoming New York Tabletop Show, taking place October 17-20, Gibson will introduce its new versatile Dinner Bowl

Gibson Overseas’ creative and product development teams have worked hard to settle on its new Dinner Bowl, a wide 9 to 9.5-inch bowl that is shallower than traditional cereal bowls.

Gibson has incorporated the dinner bowl into new set compositions and open stock options and will be on show at 41 Madison. The bowls feature a variety of designs, from clean modern lines and colours, to organic shapes and speckles.

“The trend began with healthier Asian-inspired meal bowls and made its way to retail dinnerware,” says Laurie Gates, Gibson’s VP of creative and merchandising, adding “consumers love the versatility of wide bowls that curve up to just the right height to hold everything from a main dish to soup”.

Gibson is also adding new acrylic drinkware to its Sutdio California line – the Elmira collection includes tumblers and goblets that resemble quality vintage glass drinkware. They come in three colours – red, blue and clear and feature embossed geometric designs.

Find Gibson on the 10th floor.

About New York Tabletop Show
Debuting at the upcoming New York Tabletop Market, October 17-20, are three brand-new showrooms, three newly remodelled and relocated showrooms, and the completed renovation of the 41 Madison lobby, Buyer’s Lounge, and building façade.

Alessi has announced the opening of its new corporate offices and showroom in the 41 Madison building on the 8th floor, providing an important opportunity for increasing awareness to a new breed of retailers and allowing Alessi to work directly with designers for both residential and commercial projects.

Alessi will officially participate in its first Tabletop Market in Spring 2018, but will make a soft debut at the upcoming Fall Tabletop Market.

Canvas Home, a tableware and decorative accessories brand known for its simple yet stylish pieces crafted with sustainable materials, will debut a 1,000-sq-ft space on the 15th Floor. Each of its collections are created in partnership with fine artisans and premium factories across the globe, and are designed as timeless liveable treasures that provide chic finishing touches for any setting.

Qualia Glass, a premier supplier of fine handmade glassware and lead-free crystal, will launch its 41 Madison showroom, encompassing a 1,100-sq-ft space on the 15th Floor.

Nambé, the award-winning tableware brand, will be relocating its newly designed showroom to the 17th floor; BIA Cordon Bleu’s luxury division housing three of France’s oldest and most prestigious factories - Royal Limoges, Philippe Deshoulieres, and Capdeco – is relocating to the 17th floor, while BIA’s housewares showroom remains on the 3rd floor.

And, the Oneida Group has opened a new showroom dedicated to its foodservice collections on the 15th floor. This showroom houses brands such as Anchor Hocking, Buffalo, Buffet Euro, Luzerne, Oneida, Oneida Strata, Sant’ Andrea, and Stölzle. Oneida’s consumer division remains on the 4th floor in the newly renovated Robinson Home Showroom.

This October the wraps will come off the renovation that has transformed Forty One Madison’s façade, lobby and Level A, and the October Show will mark the project’s completion of phase two. The registration desk, now strategically located in the newly constructed building entrance, will include new self-check-in stations to streamline Show entry. New built-in vitrines line the lobby and will spotlight a variety of products from top brands.

To trumpet the official opening of the new lobby a special display is being created by The Alpha Workshops, a respected industry design atelier. They are producing the extraordinary backdrops and the decorative tables along with two acclaimed interior designers - Jon Call, founder of Mr. Call Designs, and Daun Curry.

The Show will host Interior Designer Day on Thursday, October 19, with 45 showrooms offering Direct Designer Access. Interior designers are invited to shop showrooms and meet with industry leaders from around the world from 9am to 5pm.
