4,700+ exhibitors expected at Ambiente
The world’s leading consumer-goods fair in Frankfurt in February 2015 will deliver a focus on the US, a growing HoReCa business and a fascinating programme of events
Ambiente – The Show. Under this motto, the world’s leading consumer-goods event will once again occupy the whole of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre from 13 to 17 February 2015.
With over 4,700 exhibitors expected, the entire eastern part of the Exhibition Centre is reserved for the Dining section while the Giving and Living sections share the western part. With these three sections, Ambiente depicts the complete spectrum of consumer goods for the table, kitchen and household, as well as giving, the home and furnishing.
“Ambiente is the unrivalled business platform for the global consumer-goods industry. Products from almost 90 countries on an area the size of more than 46 football fields”, says Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambiente/Tendence.
However, Ambiente is not only the sector’s new-products summit, it is also the place to go for a variety of events, trend presentations, awards ceremonies and promotional programmes for young designers.
Next year, the United States will be the Ambiente Partner Country. After Denmark, France and Japan, the United States is the fourth Ambiente Partner Country. A comprehensive programme is planned and will include a special presentation, theme day, activities and events.
Scott Henderson from the New York-based design studio Scott Henderson Inc. will be the designer of the special presentation for next year’s presentation. In August, this year, he presented his initial ideas for the concept, which will be visually oriented towards a coastal landscape in New England.
With the launch of the Contract Business programme at Ambiente three years ago, the fair has rapidly become a hotspot for the contract sector. Decision makers from the hotel and restaurant business can be sure of finding the right business contacts, expertise and tailor-made solutions for the contract business and Horeca segments.
“Equipping large projects like exclusive hotels and restaurants, cruise liners or the business class and first class of airlines demands high standards in the aesthetics and quality of the products used. At Ambiente, professionals will find around 270 top suppliers with great expertise and experience in this business segment”, says Nicolette Naumann.
Ambiente is also a major player in the volume business sector and gives buyers the chance to order directly from manufacturers from Asia and other regions. As the most significant sourcing platform outside China, it offers a wide spectrum of merchandise in the Passage product segment. In six exhibition halls, visitors find over 1,300 selected, export-oriented suppliers with a wide range of products from industrially-made goods to hand-crafted articles in large quantities and solutions in the customising field.
The most important trends for the table, kitchen, home and giving segments will be presented at Ambiente 2015 in an impressive special show. The four trend worlds are the work of the renowned trend bureau, Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano. With hundreds of products, the Ambiente Trend Show offers the trade a tangible and time-saving overview of the most important trends at the fair. The Trend Show will be supplemented by daily guided tours and lectures.
For many young designers, the Talents and Next promotional programmes represent important steps on the careers ladder. At Ambiente, up-and-coming young designers from the product, furniture and jewellery design segments can present their ideas, designs and prototypes to an international audience of trade visitors and make contact with potential manufacturers. There, visitors can discover creative ideas, exciting products and tomorrow’s leading designers.
The Solutions special show focuses on functional innovations coupled with clever design. There, visitors can discover new products from Ambiente exhibitors, which offer creative solutions for the tableware, kitchen and household segments. As part of the show, designer and curator Sebastian Bergne spotlights special features of each of the products selected in a brief film clip.
As in previous years, Ambiente 2015 will be the setting for the presentation of numerous renowned awards ceremonies. Consumer goods skilfully combining aesthetic qualities with practical benefits are honoured with the Design Plus Award and the winning products displayed in a special exhibition during the fair. The German Design Award is presented on the first day of the fair and visitors will also find the winning products in an impressive exhibition. The ‘Plagiarius’ negative award shaming product piracy and the Kitchen Innovation Award will also be given during Ambiente.
