Ambiente 2015 sees record number of exhibitors
Ambiente extends its lead with further growth in numbers and internationality: 4,811 exhibitors from 94 countries
Ambiente, the world’s foremost trade fair for the consumer-goods sector, continues to extend its lead. Altogether, 4,811 exhibitors from 94 countries (2014: 4,749 exhibitors, 89 countries*) are making presentations in Frankfurt am Main from the coming Friday, 13 February 2015, and, as at the previous edition of the fair, the 328,500 square meters of exhibition space (gross) at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre are fully booked up.
“Ambiente has never been more international. With this record and even more exhibitors than last year, it has more than underscored its position as the global market leader”, says Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt. Turning to the current economic situation, Braun says, “The high propensity to consume in Germany and the anticipated recovery of the world economy are positive omens for the coming fair and a successful business year, 2015.”
This year, one of Germany’s most important commercial partners, the United States of America, is the Ambiente Partner Country. More than 100 US exhibitors are showing their latest products on the five days of the fair. In addition to the ‘Seashore Galore’ special show by Brooklyn-based designer Scott Henderson, ‘USA Day’ spotlights exhibitors from the United States on 16 February.
The Partner Country programme has been an important feature of the exhibitor and visitor programme since Ambiente 2012. The official opening of Ambiente on Friday will be attended by James Melville Jr., Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the United States of America in Germany, Lucia Puttrich, Minister of State for Federal and European Affairs of the State of Hesse, and Uwe Becker, Treasurer of the City of Frankfurt am Main.
Ambiente 2015 is set to do more than justice to its claim, ‘The Show’ – and not just thanks to this year’s Partner Country! A broad spectrum of awards, design and trend presentations, as well as Talents, the international promotional programme for young designers, not only ensures that the fair is a fascinating place to be but also generates essential impulses for the trade for 2015 and beyond. With a series of informative studies on subjects of importance for the section, Messe Frankfurt also offers a supplementary source of information for exhibitors and visitors at its consumer-goods fairs. Thus, at the start of Ambiente 2015, it is publishing a Management Report entitled ‘Contract business – a growth market.
A study of contract business in Horeca supplies and furnishings’ prepared by Ifo Institute, Munich. According to the study, this section of the market is currently worth around two billion euros for the product segments represented at Ambiente. And the trend is upwards.
