With the Dining sector spanning 16 halls, discover the very best and latest in tableware launches and trends at the world's leading consumer goods fair
For five days, from today, February 10, to February 14, 2017, and across 308,000 sqm of floor space at Frankfurt am Main, more than 4,300 exhibitors from 96 countries will once more showcase their new products and innovations in the Dining, Giving and Living sectors to more than 137,000 visitors from 143 countries.
Across 16 halls, Dining represents the entire market for table, kitchen and housewares showcasing some 2,200 exhibitors, covering everything from the premium segment up to volume business. The Table section delivers everything from factory-based manufacturers up to design-oriented companies, from branded items to specialists in the HoReCa market.
In the Dining sector, German fine porcelain and avant-garde glass manufacturer Hering Berlin will make its Ambiente debut (Hall 4.1 C81) where it will showcase its current range of hand-blown water and wine glasses designed by owner Stefanie Hering.
A newcomer too to Dining is design laboratory and Italian institution Driade (Hall 4 A21), who will present its tableware lines in Frankfurt for the first time, including its multi-layered, colourful dinner service featuring a decoration of fantail goldfish.
Returning exhibitors to Dining in 2017 include German porcelain manufacturer Fuerstenberg (Hall 4.1 Stand E35) and British crystal brand Dartington Crystal (Hall Hall 4.0 Stand A31), a company that is celebrating its 50th anniversary and will have some exciting presentations.
Dartington will join hundreds of other British companies, whose stands will flagged with the Partner Country label as Great Britain is Ambiente 2017’s Partner Country of choice.
Visitors to Ambiente 2017 should check out the extensive display – the Partner Country Presentation. Designed and curated by one of the UK’s leading graphic and product designers, Janice Kirkpatrick, the presentation is titled Providence & Provenance and promotes products from British exhibitors.
A number of special presentation areas, including for trends, awards and a promotional programme will also be on display. The main trends will be presented for dining, kitchen and the home in a large show.
The special Solutions display, curated by Sebastian Bergne in collaboration with Tableware International editor Kate Birch, will showcase a range of creative solutions and clever products from Ambiente exhibitors in Dining and Kitchen, including cookware from Villeroy & Boch.
Ambiente’s successful promotional programme will return, offering three areas, where 37 young designers and design studios from 16 countries can showcase their ideas. Some 13 designers will exhibit in Hall 4.0, with its focus on dining table and kitchen.
Sustainability is the focus for the Design Plus label, which will see a presentation of products that have been chosen by a jury for their aesthetic, functional, ecological and technical qualities.
Since the introduction of the Contract Business packaging in 2012, the number of exhibitors showcasing their tailor-made solutions in the field of commercial contract furnishings and the HoReCa trade has grown.
This year sees 270 top companies present individual solutions, including ASA Selection, Rona, Crystalex, Bauscher, Tafelstern, Studio William, Dibbern, Rak Porcelain Europe, Steelite International and Zieher.
These companies will also be distinguished by a label on their stands showing they offer experience and expertise in HoReCa and visitors can also find the Contract Business Guide. There is also an Ethical Style Guide, listing companies who are ethical.
