Global gift trends launch at Atlanta 2017

The Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market, now in its 60th year, presents new and expanded showrooms across all gift merchandise categories, including tabletop

International brands tapping into AmericasMart’s global leadership include Nordic home and interior design line Bloomingville, which exclusively launches its new holiday collection with Ivystone at the January 2017 Market. 

“Just a year ago, we were presenting Bloomingville to the American market for the first time. With great joy, we report that over the past year we’ve received an outstanding response to the brand and couldn’t be more excited to begin a new year with double the SKU count than was launched last January,” says Eugene Wang chief operating officer of Regent Holding Company. “In addition to launching new products for spring/summer 2017, we are introducing Bloomingville’s holiday collections to the United States for the very first time, beginning at AmericasMart.”

Other international brands using AmericasMart to showcase their collections to the world include English lines Royal Doulton and Wolf; French lines Lampe Berger and Baccarat; and Pottery Avenue of Poland, Waterford Wedgwood of Ireland, Abbiamo Tutto of Italy and OneWorld Collection of Australia, whose only permanent American showroom is at AmericasMart. 

AmericasMart’s domestically manufactured product collection also continues to grow with two new Made in America exhibitors – Spunky Fluff and Borealis Press – taking showrooms adjacent to the permanent Made in America product destination. 

Celebrity chef Paula Deen turns to AmericasMart to showcase her brand’s expansion into home accents with the launch of her new line with Young’s Inc., premiering in January at the Market. Deen showcases her culinary skills with a special presentation in the Fiesta Dinnerware Demonstration Kitchen on Friday, January 13 followed by a meet and greet in the Young’s showroom. 

“AmericasMart is the number one place to launch new product. It is the premier Gift Market,” says Phani Parlapalli, Young’s Inc. chief operating officer. “There is no other place we would consider launching a product of this magnitude.”

Thought leaders and tastemakers from across the gift spectrum join Deen with must-see programming at the January Market. Annette Joseph, author of “Picture Perfect Parties” presents “The Ultimate Party Pantry and Food Styling Workshop” on Wednesday, January 11. 

Programming on Thursday, January 12 includes Joseph returning with “A Workshop in Styling and Social Media” and “Home for the Holidays: Setting the Trends in Tabletop and Seasonal Décor,” a designer panel with Julia Reed, Bonnie Mackay and Steve McKenzie; “Floor Planning Guide: Your Merchandising Questions Answered” with Mercedes Gonzales of Global Purchasing Group; and “Not Your Mother’s Wedding: Capturing the Millennial Bridal Market” featuring uber-stylish and popular Brooklyn-based wedding planner, designer and podcaster, Jove Meyer sharing event planning tips and trends, and dishing on all things wedding-ish with special guest, Los Angeles-based event planner Jesi Haack. 

On Friday, January 13, Diane Sulg, executive director of CRAFT presents “Jump-Start Your Sales Success With ‘Made in America’,” followed by designer Nathan Turner shooting and live streaming his popular new Design Network “Snack Chat” series with food and lifestyle expert Reed.

Esteemed author and entrepreneur Kathy Ireland discusses disruptive entrepreneurship and building billion-dollar brands in a conversation sponsored by A&B Home with Jenny Heinzen York, editor-in-chief of “Home Accents Today” on Saturday, January 14 followed by “Gifting 101: Cashing in on Gifting Trends With Personal Care Products” featuring Patti Biro of the Day Spa Association.

The Fiesta Dinnerware Demonstration Kitchen also celebrates Atlanta’s culinary culture with a series of interactive demonstrations curated by “Atlanta Magazine” throughout the Market.
