Chicago preview: Gaia
During the upcoming International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, which runs March 18-22, Gaia will present extensions to its Tablescapes Home Dinnerware Collections
Notable for organic shapes and colours, designs and finishes inspired by nature and patterns from around the world, Gaia Group USA is expanding its Gaia Tablescapes Home Dinnerware Collections with new escape-inspired patterns.
The comforting colour palette of Bella Terra returns in updated shapes and glaze techniques inspired by marine life, evoking the sensual flow of gentle water over pearly shells and cool marbled stones, or the crackling of ice across arctic seas.
Gaia’s Geo collection, known for its bright and lively geometrics, returns with new styles inspired by global patterns. Mixing textural new glazes and colour palettes, Geo Happy delivers vibrant all-over prints and creates playful contrasts with updated flourishes, dynamic starburst patterns, and a kaleidoscope of colours with a hand-applied feel.
Embossed and debossed textures with mid-gloss finishes enlivens the surface of each piece, while the mix-and-match style provides opportunities for truly personalised looks.

A comprehensive list of new and returning exhibitors is regularly updated at Housewares Connect 365.
Among the 2,200 exhibitors expected, buyers will find nearly 400 exhibitors new to the Show at the must-visit New Exhibitor Preview.
“Those buyers wishing to get a head start on what’s new should mark their calendars for 8am on Saturday morning before the Show’s opening and visit the newly expanded New Exhibitor Preview,” suggests Perry, “where 90 brand-new-to-the-Show exhibitors will be offering a preview of their new kitchen solutions.”
Last year’s must-visit new destination, Discover Design, is in high demand among suppliers for 2017 and will again feature many creative new companies and returning design leaders including Alessi, Stelton, KELA, Blomus, Chilewich, Orrefors Kosta Boda, Sagaform, Barbuzzo, Corkcicle, Eva Solo, Joseph Joseph, Magisso, Nambe, Stackers and S’well Bottle.
The Show’s most exciting addition in 2017 will be the addition of the IHA Smart Home Pavilion, a display that “will illuminate the progress our industry has made in supporting the smart home revolution,” says Perry, adding “experts in the smart home/connected products arena will be on hand to answer questions at the pavilion.”
From homewares to retail merchandising, international lifestyle trends will be the focus of several presentations in the Innovation Theatre, with more than 20 sessions delivered by experts from global trend agencies including Euromonitor, GfK Retail and GTrend Bible over the four days.
