Interior Lifestyle China opens today

Interior Lifestyle China opens today at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, running until 20 September 2014 in halls N4 and N5.
Organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, Interior Lifestyle China is the only platform in China for mid-range and high-end lifestyle related products. The fair, which last year attracted around 20,000 local and international visitors, will feature nearly 250 exhibitors this year.
The home and lifestyle industry in China is currently going through a transformation, with more of a focus now on design. As such, an increasing number of domestic and international companies are keen to establish their brands in China, with this year’s Italian Pavilion reflective of this.
An array of events with a focus on design and retail business form the fair’s fringe programme
The fair will feature a strong line-up of design oriented events this year covering various aspects of home decoration trends, designer brands, brand building, as well as product design and the lifestyle retail market. Commenting on behalf of the show organiser Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Ltd., Ms Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. said: “The fringe programme has always been a major highlight of Interior Lifestyle China as it reflects the current status and future development of the high-end lifestyle industry. This year’s fringe events will offer everything that industry players need to know to engage in the premium brands and design products market.”Theme Display Area
To coincide with the 50th anniversary of Habitat, a global lifestyle brand, Interior Lifestyle China will jointly launch the Theme Display Area, together with other prestigious lifestyle brands from home and abroad. This area will bring the perspective of a European designer/visual merchandiser with department or chain store decoration display experience, and features two themes:
• Dining Area Theme – the useful can be beautiful and the beautiful affordable
• Living Area Theme – live with designDesign Area – Design Your Best Time
Following the lead of Ambiente, Tendence and Interior Lifestyle Tokyo, Interior Lifestyle China is offering a “Design Area” at this year’s show. In addition to the original “Talents” concept, there will also be a “Next” programme featuring future brands which will support young creative design companies, and “Loft” which promotes mature designer brands.On Design Forum
The organisers have invited well-known designers from different fields to gather at this forum which focuses on display and product design. It will provide participants with the latest design information and touch on the importance of product design and retail displays.
Vincent Destailleur, CEO of Cafom, a furniture retailer in France, will talk about the strength of visual merchandising in the commercial value of products; decorator and visual merchandiser, Karin Wahl, from Germany, meanwhile, will carry out a presentation on Shop Presentation – Importance and Trends. Also part of the On Design Forum, and continuing the topic from last year’s show about the connection between design and commerce, this year two “Talents” and “Next” designers will share how they created their businesses and brands. In addition, experts and consultants will offer inspiring ideas and suggestions related to building and establishing a brand.Lifestyle Retail Market Forum/Business Talk
Experts and brand managers from well-known domestic and foreign retailers will share their unique household industry management ideas in a series of talks, providing attendees with retail marketing information and the successful experiences of renowned brands. Two sessions will take place in the afternoon of 18 September, including E-commerce Channel Sharing Meeting from a representative from JD.com, an e-commerce platform similar to Amazon.com; and An All-Channel Age for the Lifestyle Industry, deliver by Shanghai Municipal Commerce Development Research Centre, online business portal Chamago, national newspaper the Shanghai Commercial Daily, and a number of lifestyle companies will all speak individually during this session. This session is hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Commerce Development Research Centre, the Shanghai Brand Development Center and Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd.
One further session will take place in the afternoon of 19 September… How to Be a Top Buyer of Household Products by speaker, Wayne Xiang, Managing Director of Likuai, the largest retailer of imported houseware in China.The Home Style Award 2014
Organised by the Household Brand Committee of the Shanghai Brand Promotion Centre and Messe Frankfurt, The Home Style Award changes focus from product design to product display, reflecting how this aspect of the sales process is gaining more significance in the Chinese retail market. It has already attracted many brands vying for the Best Display Store and Best Display Booth awards. The jury is comprised of merchandise, design and media professionals. The winners will be announced during the fair on 18 September 2014.Interactive events and other exhibition areas
Several interactive events and other exhibition areas include Lin's Ceramics TEA PARTY, MIJI’s Master Chef Presentation and Bento Talent Contest, the Trends & Time Memory Concept Show and the W+S Café which will be held alongside the fair to promote home decoration and lifestyle trends.
Interior Lifestyle China will be held parallel to Paperworld China, the trade fair for the stationery and office supplies industry.
