Three exclusive collections from Fuerstenberg will be included in the world tour of the 'Handmade in Germany exhibition, which starts this month
The design exhibition of 100 important German manufacturers starts its world tour in St. Petersburg on 19 September before heading off to its next 15 stations. With its unique craftsmanship and the entire Fürstenberg production site on the banks of the Weser River, FÜRSTENBERG perfectly represents the international seal of quality “(Hand)made in Germany”.
“Handmade in Germany” is an exhibition of German manufacturers that will tour the world for several years. The exhibition will initially be en route from Berlin to St. Petersburg, and then travel via Moscow, Hong Kong, Taipei, Abu Dhabi, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto before once again finding its way back to Europe. The collection will exhibit high-quality design objects and manufactured products from across all disciplines, all handcrafted in Germany.
With their exhibited collections SOLITAIRE, TOUCHÉ und BLANC, FÜRSTENBERG will spirit the international public away to the Weser Uplands, where high-quality porcelain is created with precision, passion and a love of details to satisfy the very highest standards. With over 265 years of porcelain tradition, today the manufacturer FÜRSTENBERG stands for a fusion of craftsmanship and creativity, design and functionality.
The vases and bowls of the SOLITAIRE crystal glass series willcaptivate you with their fascinating uniqueness and masterfulquality. With a great deal of passion and skilled craftsmanship,FÜRSTENBERG has reinterpreted this more than 1,000-year-oldglazing technique, thus transforming every object into fascinatingone-of-a-kind items.
Nomen est omen – produced from wafer-thin manufactured porcelain, the unique matt glaze and double-walled design of the TOUCHÉ drinking cup series will fascinate you. The thermal effect thus produced makes drinking cold and also warm drinks a very enjoyable experience. Manufacturing the virtually weightless cups with a wall thickness of just 1.2 to 1.5 millimetres requires especially skilled craftsmanship. The extraordinary functionality and aesthetics were rewarded by the red dot award: product design in 2012.
The BLANC gourmet series is characterised by the unusual shapeof the plate and its large radius. It is thus able to live up to the highdemands of the gourmet kitchen – functional and with thenecessary design freedom for the individual serving style of starand hobby cooks. The outstanding design was awarded the iFproduct design award in 2012. For the development of the BLANCgourmet series, Porzellanmanufaktur FÜRSTENBERG collaboratedwith the designer Mikaela Dörfel and representatives of Germany’stop chefs: Sven Elverfeld, Nils Henkel and Tim Raue.
