HOMI will land in Moscow in October
HOMI, which took place in January in Milan, having taken up the legacy of Macef, will debut in Moscow in October 2014
The debut of Homi in Russia will be in grand style, in which organizers Fiera Milano will introduce its partnership with ITE (International Trade Exhibitions JV Group limited), a world-class exhibition center and leader in Russia with shows in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg. ITE is also present in many other non-European markets, including Turkey, India, China and Indonesia.
The partnership between Fiera Milano and ITE, a company listed on the London stock exchange, includes the promotion and joint organisation of HOMI in Moscow for five annual editions, from 2014 to 2018.
The debut in October 2014 will also enjoy the concurrent Moscow appointment of the International Furniture Fair, the “Saloni Worldwide", also planned for the Crocus Center. The quintessential Italian style will be presented to Russian buyers in its most complete and convincing aspects, with a commercial offer that covers the very best in décor and home design.
“HOMI is a project we are strongly committed to,” says managing director of Fiera Milano, Enrico Pazzali. “We demonstrated our commitment with the new show currently in Milan. We are demonstrating it now with an agreement with ITE, which will soon kick off HOMI’s internationalisation process. This process is an integral part of the exhibition project we are developing and will not end in Russia. In 2015, we hope our next stop will be the US and Asia. In the internationalisation of HOMI, and more generally, our shows, the partnership with ITE is a very important element, which makes us even more secure and confident. In the same way, it is so important that we reached an agreement with the International Furniture Fair, which has allowed Italian manufacturers to create a system with facts and not just with words.”
“The agreement with Fiera Milano,” remarked Mikhail Basheleishvili, deputy general director of ITE, “brings together our extensive knowledge of the Russian market with the leadership of the Italian Fiera Milano group in products for living and home design. It is an impressive partnership, which we are very happy to have achieved and which opens prospects of extreme interest for us and for Russian buyers.”
Russia, and the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg, in particular, have been models of consumption that far exceed the country’s average. It is a strategic market for Fiera Milano, in consistent growth thanks to a number of key factors, including the increase in the population and the change in lifestyles. These factors have led to growth in domestic demand. With a population of nearly 143 million residents, Russia is the eighth largest retail sales market in the world and boasted an increase of 3.4% in its GDP in 2012.
Italy and Russia are very close in terms of commercial trade and, significantly, Russia is one of the largest importers of Italian manufactured furniture and decorating accessories.
HOMI Mosca will bring Italian flair through the products of the best known companies, along with new names in creativity and design. But it will also be a showcase of excellence for the most interesting home designs from around the world and manufacturers looking for a qualified
and innovative opportunity for encountering the Russian market.
HOMI Mosca will take place from 15-18 October 2014, at the Crocus exhibition center, Moscow. www.homimilano.com
