Homi gearing up for eighth edition

A hub of ideas and projects encompassing technology, worldwide traditions and the cross-pollination of cultures, Homi Milano will open its doors September 15

Experimentation, exhibitions and great design: Homi, the Lifestyle Trade Fair of Fiera Milano, is getting ready to launch its eighth edition, to be held in fieramilano from September 15-18, 2017, revealing its many facets and its focus on household goods and personal accessories.

Homi keeps the pace with our changing world, offering an ever-new layout with areas dedicated to experimentation and a focus on trends and habits. The show continues to serve as an established point of reference for businesses in all sectors. The last event closed with very positive results in terms of offering and visitors (up 4.5 per cent compared to the previous edition).

For the September show, Homi has confirmed its existing exhibition concept, which is split into nine satellite categories: Living Habits, Home Wellness, Fragrances & Personal Care, Fashion & Jewels, Gifts & Events, Garden & Outdoor, Kid Style, Home Textiles, Hobby & Work.

The styles, trends and atmospheres cut across different sectors, from the evocative home living of Living Habits (tableware, home decoration) and Home Textile to the multiple dimensions of beauty of Fashion & Jewels.

There is no shortage of essences and fragrances, solutions for children's rooms, and a wide offer of stationery , promotional and gift items.
This cross-pollination is one of the added values of Homi, which offers the possibility of starting from the items and themes closest to one's field of interest, and commingling them with the product categories on display.

The various satellite categories include aspects that highlight the innovative nature of the show; for example, the themed areas HOMI Sperimenta, HOMI Creazioni and Creazioni Designer, dedicated to research and experimentation, offer interesting and innovative reinterpretations by young designers and artists. Then there are the initiatives that combine design and art crafts, research and tradition, such as “La Magnifica Forma” - a project that reflects Italy's unique cultural and craft heritage, preserving its intrinsic ability to respect traditions while remaining open to new communication and cultural developments.

Among the many trends that revolutionise our daily lives, technology undoubtedly takes first prize, being ever present in our homes, in our furnishings, and even in the accessories we wear. This trend is given its own space in Homi Smart, a new experimental format dedicated to the crossover between design and new technologies, which offers food for thought and provides concrete examples of the increasingly close relationship between design and technology.

The Homi offering is further complemented by a rich schedule of conferences, workshops and training sessions that pool together designers, companies, trendsetters and retailers, resulting in an innovative exhibition that is brimming with new ideas and ever attentive to new trends.

HOMI will take place in Milan from 15 to 18 September 2017. www.homimilano.com/en
