Trend-led events debut at Homi

From technology to craftsmanship to Asian inspirations, discover new trend-led exhibits at the January 2017 edition of Homi Milano

Areas and initiatives that highlight original, evermore popular habit and trends take centre stage at Italian lifestyle show Homi MIlano, the next edition of which takes place January 27-30.

At Homi 2017, the ideas and inspirations from new style gurus will come to life with themed installations and spaces, workshops and demonstrations, including those spotlighting technology, Asian design and craftsmanship.

Spotlight on technology Homi Smart: When design and digital become one 
Homi Smart is the new experimental format from Homi. Created in collaboration with IdLab and presented for the first time at Homi Milan in September 2016, this initiative is being brought back and expanded for the January 2017 edition.

Homi Smart wants to provide industry companies with the tools for understanding the main technological trends and how they impact consumer needs and behaviours. The objective is to bring visibility to the most innovative companies in the world of design and the home. These are companies with the ability to be innovative and bold, completely transforming they their organisations think.

Spotlight on Asian Design Homi Asia Design: Learning about the cultures of the world’s biggest continent
The world of Asian design will be featured at the show thanks to the brand new Asia Design initiative that is a result of a collaboration between Homi and Sarpi Bridge_Oriental Design Week, an association that works to create collaborations between East and West. The organization is also a member of the Fuorisaloni committee of Milano Design Week and is the first and only “Oriental design week” in Italy.

Homi Asia Design, presented in pavilion 10, is to be the result of the alliance that brings together the expert organizational skills of HOMI with the curated selection of exhibitors and design offerings from Sarpi Bridge_Oriental Design Week. It is to be characterized by quality creative elements and innovation.

It won’t just be a space dedicated to business, characterized by the Asian brands on display. It will also be a cultural area with initiatives from Asian associations of design, designers, artisans and companies. This will be an area for creating new projects between East and West, between artisans and companies as well as among designers.

Homi Asia Design will be a hub and a representation of a phenomenon that continues to evolve thanks to new generations that, in traveling and studying abroad, have rediscovered their cultural heritage and have returned to Asia with a new creative vision and new identity.

Spotlight on craftsmanship La Magnifica Forma: A journey into local Italian traditions
Once again, the journey undertaken with the La Magnifica Forma initiative is to continue. This Homi event is curated by architect Anna del Gatto and presents Italian excellence, successfully bringing together formal and creative tradition with new needs in terms of style and design.

Once again, the space will highlight pieces of Italian artistic excellence and the characteristics of local craftsmanship, with unique, precious objects. This edition will focus on history and tradition, in their many different expressions, featuring offerings from artisanal companies in Sardinia and Lazio.

This initiative focuses on the concept of rediscovering hotels and spas as spaces able to highlight local art, with instalments inspired by the most contemporary hospitality areas, enriched with the most interesting examples of craftsmanship from the past from these lands that are so rich in history.
