Las Vegas spotlights luxury merchandise
Leading luxury suppliers double down on Las Vegas Market, which is open now until Thursday 6th August
Luxury suppliers and upscale merchandise are experiencing exponential growth at Las Vegas Market across its furniture, gift and home décor categories, with new heights of fashion and innovation expected for the Summer 2015 Las Vegas Market, running August 2-6, 2015. Leading luxury suppliers – Christopher Guy, Global Views, Michal Aram and Phillips Collection – are expanding, remodeling, launching new-to-Market products and hosting special events for the Summer Market.
“The sustained and progressive growth in boutique brands and luxury goods throughout Las Vegas Market will be reflected in increasing numbers of celebrities, designers, well-known interior decorators and other fashion cognoscente visiting fresh and revamped luxury showrooms to view a stellar array of new-to-Market product introductions,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is pleased to host an exceptional assortment of preeminent purveyors and superior merchandise throughout the Market campus.”
The increasing presence of better goods will be most dramatically notable in August through the spectacular reshaping of the Building A lobby and atrium entry with the expansion of three leading showrooms – Christopher Guy, Global Views and its Studio A affiliate, and Phillips Collection – positioning the Las Vegas Design Center as a grand showcase for the industry’s finest home furnishings, fabrics, lighting, floor coverings, wall décor and accessories. Other prestigious up-market suppliers will be presenting a “best-of-the-best” selection of timely and trendy products throughout Las Vegas Market, including major new collections from celebrated metalware designer Michael Aram, one of the anchors of Building C’s c-ONE cross-category showcase.
These showroom expansions and new-to-Market product introductions will be celebrated with a bevy of exclusive special events bringing the luxury market glitterati to Las Vegas Market. One of the Las Vegas Design Center's biggest exhibitors, lavish lifestyle brand Christopher Guy, will bring a real taste of show business to Market’s Opening Day, August 2. Company founder Christopher Guy Harrison will unveil the 30% expansion of the Christopher Guy showroom at the heart of Building A and celebrate the brand’s huge success in movies and television. An official ribbon cutting ceremony with local dignitaries is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 2, to inaugurate the stunning 12,000-square-foot space; followed by a sumptuous, invitation-only “Casino Royale”-themed reception and ceremonial ribbon cutting from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the same day. VIPs and select guests will be able to see the latest range of Christopher Guy’s designs while Cirque Du Soleil artists eloquently perform around them throughout the extraordinary space. Clients also will be able to view some of the well-known furniture and design pieces which have appeared in movies like Casino Royale, Oceans 13, and The Hangover; on TV shows like Mad Men and the upcoming prime time series Supergirl; and in sumptuous local resorts, including Caesars Palace, Wynn Resort, Mandalay Bay and The Venetian. Christopher Guy also is partnering with Lasvit, a leading designer and manufacturer of unique works of glass, including bespoke lighting installations, glass artworks and award-winning collections.
Celebrated interior designer Julia Buckingham will launch her new collection of furniture and home goods with industry leader Global Views, which is expanding its showroom by 40% and creating a stunning 11,502-square-foot space in the A1 Central West Lobby of the Las Vegas Design Center. Encompassing more than 100 products, the new Julia Buckingham for Global Views Collection celebrates the journey of design and encourages people to not just decorate, but to curate their spaces in a personal and meaningful way. The collection will include a selection of furniture, lighting, rugs, tabletop and home accessories by the Chicago-based designer. A special “meet and greet” with Julia Buckingham is scheduled for Monday, August 3 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Global Views showroom. Studio A, an affiliated Global Views company, will showcase its contemporary furnishings and home décor in a new 7,352-square-foot showroom adjacent to the Global Views location on A1.
Phillips Collection, a supplier of innovative, design driven home furnishings & accessories, is planning a ribbon cutting event on opening day, Sunday August 2 at 2:30 p.m. to trumpet its 36% expansion into a breathtaking 12,000 square-foot showroom on A2. The redesigned showroom will spotlight the company’s large, one-of-a-kind pieces and contemporary aesthetic in a time- and technology-friendly environment, all aimed at making the shopping experience focused, informative and fun. New merchandise to be unveiled at Summer Market includes The Denim Stools, Copper Acid Collection, Boulder Shelves, and many others. Phillips Collection plans to reprise its popular industry mixer on Sunday August 2 starting at 4 p.m., featuring music, cocktails, and amazing hors d'oeuvres. The company also will host the Designer Campers group in its showroom for a private tour with designer Jason Phillips followed by a networking lunch on Wednesday, August 5, at 12 noon.
Exciting tabletop and home décor introductions by creative metalware artist Michael Aram in the c-ONE cross-category showcase in Building C reflect the extensive and expanding presence of exceptional goods throughout Las Vegas Market. On Monday, August 3 at 4:15pm, the Michael Aram showroom will have a ribbon cutting to celebrate its fall 2015 collections, which include the “Palm” collection, inspired by the beauty of a windswept palm tree and the perfectly imperfect shapes of woven palm leaves and fallen fronds. The textures of woven fronds, curled leaves and carved trunks come together seamlessly with materials like carrara marble, glass and etched stainless steel; the warm antique gold finish and the intricate sculpted textures exude casual elegance and gracious living. Michael Aram also is featuring a new tabletop and home decor collection, “Joshua Tree,” inspired by a trip the designer made to Palm Springs and the Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California. The collection includes etched organically shaped stainless steel bowls creating an innovative texture that recalls the speckled and gritty surfaces found in arid regions. Tall, linear vases, service trays, and platters echo cactus trunks with their ridges, hollows and curves. Materials used throughout the various pieces include a combination of burnished stainless steel, natural bronze and cerused wood that all represent the rich range of colors found in the desert.
In addition to an increasing roster of luxury resources in the Las Vegas Design Center and on the better home décor floors, other highlights of Summer Market include: a celebration of the Market’s 10-year anniversary; the creation of C11, a new showroom floor for gourmet housewares, tabletop and specialty food; the continuing growth of C5, another new permanent showroom floor for boutique home décor, high-end home textiles and accessories; and the repositioning and reimagining of the Market’s temporary exhibits as The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market, a dramatic, freestanding, climate controlled temporary tradeshow space showcasing some 90,000 net square feet of innovative and emerging gift and home décor resources. Summer Market also marks the premiere of the casual furniture launch at Las Vegas Market, with 250,000 square feet of permanent showrooms and temporary exhibit space on the 12th and 13th floors in Building C devoted to the casual/outdoor category.
