Occupancy surges at Las Vegas Market

Additions and expansions in Gift and Home Décor fuel occupancy at the upcoming Las Vegas Market

Las Vegas Market continues to post gains heading into Summer Market with significant growth in both lifestyle suppliers on C10 and cross-category gift and home resources on C6. These two floors alone will showcase 25,000 of the Market’s overall 100,000 square feet of new and expanded resources – with hundreds of notable new lines, including Lily Pulitzer and Kate Spade, debuting August 2-6, 2015.

“Las Vegas Market continues to build on the breadth and depth of cross-category resources that we have been nurturing since the commencement of our growth strategy,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of gift and home décor, International Market Centers. “By providing our customers with an expansive selection of leading resources on one cohesive campus, we are providing something unique and game changing in our industry. With occupancy at unprecedented levels and growing steadily, Las Vegas Market reinforces its position as the leading furniture, home décor and gift destination in the western United States.

In just six weeks, ten new showrooms – totaling some 13,000 square feet - have been newly confirmed within the Lifestyle Collection on C10. With these additions, the comprehensive Lifestyle Collection on C10 now represents an assortment of more than 400 fashion-forward resources including contemporary gift lines, children's products, fine stationery/letter-press, personal care/wellness, fashion accessories, jewelry, men's gifts, tech accessories and luggage/travel accessories.

Notable among the newcomers, many of which are establishing a first, and only west coast presence at the Las Vegas Market, are: leading lifestyle brand Vera Bradley returning to Las Vegas Market in an expanded space of 2,200 square feet, and another ten industry-leading brands: Be Home (tabletop); Candlewarmers (warmers, candles, candle accessories); Hester & Cook (tabletop, lighting, stationery); Hot Skwash (one-of-a kind artisanal product); ILLUME (candles, fragrances, home fragrances, bath and body); Kiss That Frog (tabletop, glassware); Lynn Mitchell Group (stationery – representing over 40 lines, including Kate Spade, Lily Pulitzer, Wrapped, P. Flynn, and Lifeguard Press); Mixture (candles, home fragrance); Peking Handicraft/Trina Turk Residential; and Torre & Tagus (contemporary gift, furniture, accessories and home décor).

Further strengthening the breadth and depth of resources on C6, prestigious multi-line national sales agency Ivystone – in connection with its recently announced merger with California Marketing Associates (CMA) – will bring an additional 47 lines to C6 for the summer event.

To accommodate this broader presentation of resources, Ivystone, in conjunction with CMA, is expanding its Las Vegas Market showroom by 33% to 45,000 square feet, making it the Market’s single largest gift and home décor tenant. High-profile brands, such as Avanti Press, Bunnies By The Bay, Delton Products, DPM Fragrance (Aspen Bay & Capri Blue), I Heart Eyewear, Malden, Merritt International, New Dimensions, Puzzled, Snoozies, Thanks A Million, Tyler Candle and Upper Canada will be introduced in new CMA space alongside Ivystone’s existing lines: Beatriz Ball, Foreside Home & Garden, Good Bead, Michel Design Works, Napa Home & Garden, Pomeroy, Spartina, TAG, Zodax and many more. Other leading manufacturers and sales agencies on C6 include Enesco, Imagine That, Homart, Kalalou, Park Designs, Three Hands and Transpac.

The expansion of C10 and C6 are important components of Las Vegas market’s three-phase plan, which began in 2013, to introduce new product categories: specialty tabletop, home textiles and lifestyle collections, fashion accessories and artisanal crafts; expand existing categories; and re-merchandise temporary presentations. This summer marks the implementation of the final phase of the Las Vegas Market’s strategic evolution into the most comprehensive buying platform for buyers in the western United States.

Summer Market highlights include a celebration of the Market’s 10-year anniversary; the creation of C11 – a new showroom floor for gourmet housewares, tabletop and specialty food; continuing growth of C5, another new permanent showroom floor for boutique home décor, high-end home textiles and accessories; and the repositioning and reimagining of the Market’s temporary exhibits as The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market, a dramatic, freestanding, climate controlled temporary tradeshow space showcasing some 90,000 net square feet of innovative and emerging gift and home décor resources.

Summer Market also will mark the premiere of a casual furniture market in Las Vegas, with 250,000 square feet of permanent showrooms and temporary exhibit space on the 12th and 13th floors in Building C devoted to the casual/outdoor category.
