Las Vegas Design Center announces awards
LVDC partners with the American Society of Interior Designers on the launch of a brand new awards programme
Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) announced today the creation of a new design awards program titled “ANDYZ,” in partnership with the California Central/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID,) to recognize and celebrate the year’s best interior design. Projects by interior designers, architects and design students based in the region will be honored in nine categories at the inaugural ANDYZ awards during the Summer 2015 Las Vegas Market, August 2-6, 2015.
“Las Vegas Design Center and Las Vegas Market are pleased to strengthen ties with the local interior design community through the creation of this awards program,” said Marsha Timson, Director, Las Vegas Design Center. “The ANDYZ awards will serve to recognize the ‘best of the best’ in regional interior design projects, and reinforce the positioning of Las Vegas Design Center and Las Vegas Market as the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States.”
Las Vegas Design Center—located in Building A at Las Vegas Market—serves as a year-round resource for the regional interior design community, and a trend-setting Market resource for buyers in the furniture and home décor categories, showcasing 30 design-driven showrooms and hundreds of leading manufacturers’ lines in fine furniture, decorative accessories, wall décor, lighting, floor coverings, fabrics and trim.
The new ANDYZ awards, named to bear the resemblance of “Annual Nevada Design,” were created to recognize exceptional design from designers and design firms based in Nevada and Central California.
Interior design projects in residential, commercial and hospitality categories will be judged by a panel of professional ASID designers, and the ANDYZ winners will be announced during Summer 2015 Las Vegas Market at an awards celebration on Sunday, August 2, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., in the WorldView Ballroom on the 16th Floor of Building B. ANDYZ winners will receive an engraved award; mention in a press release to be distributed to associated design publications; and special recognition in a feature article in Luxury Magazine.
The ANDYZ Awards are open to all design firms, independent designers, and students located in Nevada or Central California (Central California encompasses any city within 125 miles of the following locations: Fresno CA, Sacramento CA, or Lake Tahoe). Categories include: Student Project, for students enrolled in 2015; Custom Furnishing/Product Design, not including a manufacturer’s product; Residential Kitchen Project; Individual Residential Space, such as a bedroom, bathroom, media room, living room, laundry room, outdoor space, or garage, not including a kitchen; Multiple Residential Spaces, within the same residence; Individual Commercial Space; Multiple Commercial Spaces, within the same commercial property; Individual Hospitality Space; and Multiple Hospitality Spaces, within the same hospitality property.
