Gourmet launch building momentum

Showroom leasing robust as leading brands confirm participation at the Gourmet debut at Las Vegas Market

Las Vegas Market announced today that showroom leasing for the launch of the new C11 permanent showroom floor is accelerating rapidly, with leading gourmet resources and several new multi-line sales agencies bringing a wealth of additional high-profile housewares, tabletop and specialty food lines to the Summer 2015 Las Vegas Market, August 2-6, 2015.

Highlights include confirmation of two new multi-line sales agencies – The Hub by Carson West Group and C. Stephens Inc.; and expansion of the line listings by Muir Sales, a previously announced C11 anchor. Beyond exhibits, the subject matter has been confirmed for the inaugural Gourmet Insights Summit for independent housewares retailers and other industry executives.

“We are thrilled with the amazing degree of enthusiasm and support the industry is demonstrating for the Las Vegas Market’s debut of C11 this August,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “Clearly, the convergence of major and boutique housewares brands in Las Vegas addresses a market void in the western region, as evidenced by the widespread interest among both vendors and retailers. As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is committed to offering dynamic new cross-category buying and selling opportunities for all market participants.”

The two newest multi-line agencies to commit to C11 together bring more than 30 gourmet, gift and accessories lines to Las Vegas Market. Seattle-based agency C. In addition to these two newly confirmed sales agencies, previously announced C11 anchor tenant Muir Sales also will extend its offerings for the summer launch to include an expanded assortment of brands in its 2,126-square-foot location. BIA/Danesco; Fagor; Ginkgo; Kitchen Innovations; Kyocera; Oenophilia; and S.A.L.T. Sisters; and Zak Designs will be added to its earlier announced roster, which included Andreas and Vitamix.

Other newcomers signing on for the gourmet launch include American Makers, a supplier of handcrafted and artisanal, made-in-America products, in 1,520 square feet; kitchen textiles purveyor Design Imports, in 1,579 square feet; and kitchen textiles supplier Wimpole Street, in 617 square feet. Overall, gourmet product categories on C11 include a gift-oriented assortment of housewares and tabletop items, including bakeware, casual tabletop cookware, gadgets, glassware and bar accessories, home and health items, hydration products, kitchen textiles, kitchen tools and gadgets, melamine tableware, publishing/cookbooks, serveware, small electrics and woodenware. Charter C11 tenants will join an already established and thriving roster of high-end and gift-driven housewares suppliers housewares and tabletop brands showing at Las Vegas Market, whether in individual manufacturer showrooms or through multi-line sales agencies.

Beyond exhibits, the inaugural Gourmet Insights Summit will offer dynamic educational content and exclusive networking opportunities targeted specifically to the gourmet industry on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. The programming includes more than four hours of customized content, including retail panel discussions on “effective merchandising to drive impulse sales” and “what’s next on the food scene,” and a presentation on “creating community using social media.” The event, which is free for retailers, will conclude with a special networking reception.

The launch of C11 marks the third and final phase of Las Vegas Market’s strategic growth plan to position itself as the leading buying platform for furniture, home décor and gifts in the western United States. In addition to the C11 opening, highlights of the upcoming Summer Market include a celebration of the Market’s 10-year anniversary; the continuing growth of C5, another new permanent showroom floor for boutique home décor, high-end home textiles and accessories; the premiere of the casual furniture launch at Las Vegas Market, with 250,000 square feet of permanent showrooms and temporary exhibit space on C12 and C13; and the repositioning and reimagining of the Market’s temporary exhibits as The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market, a dramatic, freestanding, climate controlled temporary tradeshow space showcasing some 90,000 net square feet of innovative and emerging home décor resources.
