Antique and vintage marketplace to launch
Las Vegas Market secures three key anchor exhibitors for its new Antique Vintage Marketplace, Discoveries,
which debuts August 2015
In preparation for the summer 2015 launch of Discoveries – The Antique Vintage Marketplace, Las Vegas Market has secured three key anchor exhibitors and forged a new partnership with veteran antique fair organiser Arbor Antiques Services, Inc.
This new, immediate-delivery marketplace for antique, vintage and one-of-a-kind resources debuts August 2-5, 2015.
Presented within the new Pavilions at Las Vegas Market, Discoveries is a unique new resource for the independent retail and interior design audience looking to diversify their assortments through the addition of antique, vintage and one-of-a-kind resources – all appropriate for display and resale and available for immediate delivery.
Adding another layer of interest, one-of-a-kind merchandise throughout Discoveries will be replenished each day with new finds.
“Discoveries will add a new dimension to the product offerings at Las Vegas Market bringing west coast-based antique retailers and designers something unique and exceptional,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of gift and home décor, International Market Centers. “As part of the summer debut of a dramatic and expanded presentation of temporary exhibits, Discoveries is expected to occupy 30,000 square feet of exhibit space. This latest enhancement and expansion of our breadth and depth of resources further strengthens Las Vegas Market’s position as the leading furniture, home décor and gift destination in the western United States."
Three anchor exhibitors have been secured for Discoveries:
• Go Home is a “descendant” of the antique importing empire, Golden Oldies, based in Flushing, NY. This family-run business has grown to include a unique collection of home décor accessories that combine original, European-flavored product designs and vintage Golden Oldies items;
• Classic Home offers a wide array of home furnishings. Products feature traditional craftsmanship from unique resources found around the world and old one-of-a-kind items such as TV cabinets with old doors, architectural elements and other traditional accents.
• Blue Ocean Traders specialises in the importing of the finest antiques and reproductions for home and garden, traveling all corners of the globe in search of the most exotic, one-of-a-kind antiques and true-to-form reproductions. Blue Ocean Traders sources salvaged, reclaimed, vintage items to accurately reproduce pieces from the past.
The product offerings of these companies at Discoveries will be a separate presentation from what is shown in their permanent showrooms, featuring a distinct and new collection of merchandise for immediate release.
The new partnership with Arbor Antiques will present a collection of approximately 15-20 dealers, featuring fine European and American antique furniture, antique linens, American primitives, silver, china, pottery, antique prints, rugs and more. Arbor Antiques’ collection will comprise some 5,000 square feet of exhibit space within the Pavilions at Las Vegas Market.
“I think Las Vegas will give my dealers a whole new avenue to expand their client base and increase their business,” said Curtis Ann Davis, president of Arbor Antiques. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for dealers and buyers because we have antiques that will be completely new to a west coast audience. I’m very excited about doing the show and so are the dealers – so many are already committed – they can’t wait.
On an annual basis, Arbor Antiques promotes their spring and fall show during the nationally-recognized Antiques Festival in Round Top, Texas. The popular 12-acre Arbor Antiques venue at Round Top features world-class antique dealers from across the globe showcasing their wares in air-conditioned temporary structures. After nearly 20 years in the industry, Arbor Antiques has earned a strong reputation as a standout show and a “must-see” shopping destination while at Round Top.
The launch of Discoveries – The Antique Vintage Marketplace is a component of the repositioning and reimagining of the Market’s temporary exhibits as The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market, a dramatic, freestanding, climate controlled temporary tradeshow space showcasing some 90,000 net square feet of innovative and emerging gift and home décor resources. This introduction represents the final phase of the Las Vegas Market’s strategic evolution into the most comprehensive buying platform for buyers in the western United States.
The three-phase plan, which began in 2013, has been marked by the introduction of new product categories such as specialty tabletop, home textiles and lifestyle collections, fashion accessories and artisanal crafts, as well as expansion of existing categories and re-merchandised presentations.
Other highlights of the upcoming Summer Market include a celebration of the Market’s 10-year anniversary, creation of C11 – a new showroom floor for gourmet housewares, tabletop and specialty food, as well as the continuing growth of C5, another new permanent showroom floor for boutique home décor, high-end home textiles and accessories.
Summer Market also will mark the premiere of a casual furniture market in Las Vegas, with 250,000 square feet of permanent showrooms and temporary exhibit space on the 12th and 13th floors in Building C devoted to the casual/outdoor category.
Las Vegas Summer Market runs from August 2-6, 2015. For more information about Discoveries , please contact Pam Williams; firstname.lastname@example.org, (702) 308-2962.
