Maison Miami opens today!

The debut edition of Maison & Objet Americas opens its doors today in Miami, with 64 tabletop and kitchen exhibitors including Rosenthal and Hering Berlin

The debut edition of lifestyle show Maison & Objet Americas, the Northern American version of the Paris show, will open its doors to retailers, buyers and interior designers today in Miami Beach, running until Thursday 15th May.

The fair will feature a very select gathering of 300 handpicked exhibitors from 24 countries including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Rep., France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Maison & Objet Americas will focus on two core categories in Miami this May – Interior Design and Home Decoration. Interior design will gather important names in decoration and design, offering a curated range of products to suit all development and interior design projects. Home Decoration will focus on offering an equally curated selection of trendsetting decorative furniture, lighting and decorative accessories.

Sold out almost immediately, M&O Americas will bring a wealth of new design talent, with 36% of the exhibitors never having shown at the Paris fair,
and 38% from North and Latin America, in keeping with the fair's commitment to be a true market platform for all of the Americas

Showcasing will be 64 exhibitors for the Table & Kitchen. Tabletop exhibitors include Rosenthal, French brands Deshoulieres, JL Coquet and Medard de Noblat, German brand Hering Berlin, Italian brand Roberto Cavalli Home, Portuguese brand Costa Nova and Belgian brand Serax; as well as crystal manufacturers like Artel.

Keynote Specch: Dror Benshtrit - Dreams
What does it mean to be a dreamer? What can one do with dreams, and why do they matter? When is it time to put knowledge aside, forget everything, and trust intuition?
Dror explores the importance of the pursuit in relation to life, work, wisdom, and art, and explains how dreams can be utilised to provoke visionary ideas.

In addition to these, there will also be a profusion of additional activities in various locations in and around Miami Beach, the Design District, and Ironside, all in celebration of M&O Americas. These include the following:

The combined presentation of the Designer of the Year and the Rising Talents awards will take place at an event at Frank Gehry’s breathtaking New World Center on May 13th, 2015 before an audience of design, media and real estate elite, among others.

Several of the areas museums and galleries will be creating pop up displays to celebrate MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS, and fair goers will also receive free admission to the museums. Committed to date are The Perez Art Museum, Wolfsonian /FIU, MOCA, Lowe Art Museum, and the Bass Museum.

In coordination with the Miami Design District, many of the showrooms in the area will be hosting their own special programming with cocktails. The streets of the district will be bustling as everyone enjoys the multitude of first class offerings. The evening will culminate with a cocktail party on the newly completed promenade in the Design District.

This hot new area will be hosting cocktail parties, special events and lectures from top designers during the fair. The evening of friday May 15th, there will be several events, including a performance by the forerunners of wall design creating on the spot, and a a soiree with all the showrooms opening their doors, with live jazz, french flair cuisine and specialty cocktails.
