NY NOW goes global

The upcoming Summer Market to deliver record number of global resources

A growing emphasis on global sourcing and products is reflected in the largest ever mix of international exhibitors – with a record 515 individual international exhibitors from 65+ countries worldwide – participating in the summer 2015 edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, to be held August 15-19, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“NY NOW continues to lead the industry in showcasing international resources for production and sourcing, and the expanded mix of global exhibitors at the summer Market exemplifies our continued commitment to this vital market segment,” said Randi Mohr, NY NOW co-director and vice president. “This summer, we are making it easier than ever for NY NOW attendees and exhibitors to source globally while shopping locally.”



Exhibitors from around the globe will be featured across all three NY NOW Collections – HOME, LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE – with a mix of new, returning and charter organized pavilions as well as individual international exhibitors. A total of 24 country pavilions and groups will represent 17 countries at Market, with the largest collection of these presented as part of Artisan Resource®, a first-of-its-kind market offering U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers, wholesalers and designers the opportunity to meet with international artisanal producers from around the world.



Seven countries – China, Indonesia, Ireland, Madagascar, Morocco, Philippines and South Africa – are bringing new contingents to NY NOW for summer 2015: CHAOZHOU LECHAN BUSINESS SERVICES Co. LTD. (China) with 14 companies; Indonesian Creative Hub with 17 companies; Enterprise Ireland and Design and Crafts Council of Ireland with 19 companies; MADAGASCAR FRANCE Chamber of Commerce and Industry/Madagascar Now with 5 companies; Cicomar Trading Inc. dba Moroccan Prestige with 7 companies; Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) from the Philippines with 19 companies; Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal from South Africa with 13 companies.



NY NOW also welcomes back eight pavilions returning after an absence from the Market: Cambodia High Vale Silk (Cambodia); Pro Ecuador New York (Ecuador); CHAMBRE REGIONALE DE METIERS ET DE L'ARTISANAT IDF (France); Asociación Guatemalteca de Exportadores (Guatemala); JETRO (Japan); MALAYSIAN HANDICRAFT DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (Malaysia); Kotra (Korea Trade) (South Korea); SOURCE (South Africa).



At the same time, groups from the United Kingdom, Germany and France are planning to expand their presence at the summer 2015 edition. British Jewellery & Giftware International, British Contemporary Crafts and British Design Group (United Kingdom) will expand to 23 companies; Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, Messe Stuttgart (Germany) will increase to 21 companies; and Business France (France) will grow to 19 companies. 

Other pavilions that are part of NY NOW and Artisan Resource include: Accent on Japan and Kagawa Industry Support Foundation (Japan); Ministry of Trade and Industry (Panama); and British Design Group (United Kingdom).

The summer 2015 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, will run Saturday, August 15, through Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. NY NOW’s three comprehensive collections – HOME, LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE, as well as NEW! exhibitors – encompass 100,000 products in myriad product categories.
