NY NOW opens this weekend!
Opening its design-friendly doors this weekend, the New York Home, Lifestyle + Gift Show will deliver plenty of new brands and exclusive product launches
In just a few days, NY NOW®, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, will bring approximately 25,000 attendees and 2,700 premier established and emerging brands together at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City for the industry’s most expansive marketplace event.
Kicking off on tomorrow, Saturday, August 20, and located conveniently under one roof, NY NOW will give attendees the opportunity to participate in industry seminars and exclusive events. Attendees will also be able to explore the Home, Lifestyle and Handmade Collections in an easy-to-navigate layout that will allow them to find exactly what they’re looking for from thousands of products that will be on display.
On-trend and new products galore!
With tens of thousands of unique products being showcased at the NY NOW summer 2016 market, there is an endless amount of innovation that attendees will encounter. In fact, more than 70 per cent of exhibitors are planning to have exclusive product launches, proving that NY NOW continues to be a global stage for brands to share their newest products with buyers and the industry.
This year, more than 300 companies will be exhibiting here for the very first time with new additions in the Home Collection – Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares and Accent on Design, in particular - including notable names such as Brooklyn Brew Shop (all grain beer making kits) and Arcade Group SRL (Italian art glass company), while tabletop returnees to the show include Lisa Neimeth Ceramics (Handmade Collection).

Industry insights and continued learning
To provide thousands of attendees with the most on-trend information, the NY NOW seminar program will offer a jam-packed agenda of more than 30 different sessions for anyone looking to expand their knowledge or advance their career or business. NY NOW’s full range of educational programming will cover compelling industry topics ranging from color and design trends, to sustainability, digital media, retail strategies and more. Seminars are led by leading trade and consumer publications or industry associations and will provide attendees with new insights on our industry and invigorate them to succeed.
NY NOW is once again partnering with HGTV Magazine at the summer market to deliver an exciting experience for attendees. HGTV will host an exclusive Blogger Block Party on Monday, August 22. This all-day event will be dedicated to meeting and greeting, tweeting, DIYing and more! Featuring Emily Henderson, Author, Designer, Blogger of Style by Emily Henderson; John & Sherry Petersik, Bloggers, Young House Love; Genevieve Gorder, Designer; and Rachel Faucett, Blogger, Handmade Charlotte. Additionally, this summer marks the launch of NY NOW’s Retail Design Challenge, hosted by HGTV designer Meg Caswell. This program allowed NY NOW attendees to showcase their retail design skills by submitting photos of their own store designs for a chance win prizes. The 25 finalists have been selected and three grand prize winners will be announced at an exclusive breakfast with Meg herself on Monday, August 22nd at 8:30am. Carrol Boyes: Booth 3745
Carrol Boyes is renowned for its functional art, combining sculptural form with utilitarian items in metals, such as Pewter and aluminium. The Icon Collection embodies sculptural forms in the Carrol Boyes range, which are iconic in scale and sculpted by hand and express Carrol Boyes signature style. These pieces are museum quality works of art with a utilitarian purpose. This duality always exists, they are created to be displayed and used. No-Mad: Booth 1162
A collaboration between Indian-born creative engineer Anuj Kothari and Belgian designer Valerie Barkowski, homeware brand No-Mad takes inspiration from many cultures but its usefulness remains in line with the Indian way of life. No-Mad offers everything from stainless steel PU-coated Thali trays and linen cocktail napkins to 100 per cent copper teapots.
Peetal New York: Booth 3050
At Peetal New York, British designer Reema Kohli has brought this ancient alloy bang up to date with her contemporary designs. She fuses brass with a variety of materials, such as aluminium, nickel, stainless steel and semi-precious stones, to deliver decorative yet functional home and tabletop accessories, all handmade in a factory in India, which also manufacturers luxury brands like Tom Dixon.
Ariana Ost: Booth 9162
In her New York City atelier, Ariana Ost is reviving the lost art of glamour and making it speak again through handcrafted designs that celebrate personal rituals and simple moments with a jewellery approach. Her doily laser-cut placemats and coasters inspired by intricate vintage doily and eyelet patterns. Her coaster sets have been hand-cut, pierced and drilled to mimic the softness and open feel of a doily but are solid and more contemporary, delivering a romantic feel.
Nashi Home: Booth 3672
A manufacturer and designer of quality affordable resin homewares and lifestyle products, Nashi Home Australia design unique shapes and sizes with fresh vibrant colour combinations that are easy to mix and match for home decor and home entertaining. The Nashi Home product range consist of bowls, platters, vases , salad servers, tumblers, cake stand, pendant lights, clocks, picture frames, bathroom products and much more. All products are FDA approved and food safe.
Annieglass: Booth 3010
Handcrafted American luxury tabletop serve ware company Annieglass will present its winter collection will introduce its new winter 2016 collection, an array of pieces designed for the growing trend of grazing. Versatile, durable and sustainably handcrafted in California, the tableware is used in restaurants and sold in retailers across the US. Its new Mod line includes oval servers that look like they’ve been dipped in 24k gold, the variation between the muted glass and shiny precious metals radiating sparkle.
Viterra: Booth 3653
Boutique art glass company Viterra, whose glass objects are now sold by independent home goods retailers, museum shops, design stores and furniture galleries, will showcase its 12 new collections. New pieces include vases, bowls, platters and centrepieces, all handmade and curated by glass blower Erica Friedman. The Honeycomb collection of oversize vases feature a graduated colour shift in a honeycomb-shaped pattern, while the two Sateen vases deliver vertical stripes in red, grey and clear.
