First peek at Pulse

It’s in with the new at summer’s only design-led gift & home event

Pulse returns from 11-13 May, 2014 with retailers’ first peek at never-before-seen products, the latest trends and inspiring lessons via a comprehensive business insight programme. This May, more than 500 brands will be joining the show at Earls Court, providing a one-stop shop for stunning new products across home, gift, fashion and accessories.

Current trends show that retailers today are buying little and often, thus making Pulse the perfect opportunity to source brand-new products from a mix of established brands and up-and-coming designer makers at London’s only summer design-led gift event.

Amongst the big timers in giftware, homeware, fashion and wellbeing, retailers will also meet over 100 quirky, contemporary and trend-setting designers in Launchpad, an exclusive platform dedicated to identifying, developing and promoting commercially ready talent from across the globe. In the tabletop area, such brands include Hannah Turner Ceramics, The Pot Factory, Nkuku, Block Design, Mrs Moore’s Cintage Store and Iron and Clay.

“New, new, new, that is the mantra at Pulse this year,” explains Neil Gaisford, portfolio director of Clarion Retail. “We have selected a unique offer of compelling new products to make your business stand out. There is so much to refresh and update your store, and with 65 per cent of the suppliers at Pulse showing for the first time in London in 2014, you are sure to spot something different. Plus, as the high street continues to evolve, there has never been a greater desire amongst retailers to change the way they do things. In response to this, we have launched a comprehensive and new ‘insight and trends’ seminar programme providing free and inspired lessons for retailers looking to enhance their business.

Pulse 2014 welcomes favourite design-led brands including Rex International, OMY Design & Play, Nkuku, Grand Illusions, Taschen, Katy & June, Repeat Repeat, Tori Murphy, Shoeless Joe and D&X, while over three quarters of exhibitors will be showcasing their unique designs in London for the first time this year. Retailers will also get a chance to meet influential international brands joining the show from Denmark, Sweden, India, South Africa, Italy and more. The offer is guaranteed to be fresh with over one third of exhibitors never having shown at Pulse before, including FINGERMAX, Portico Designs, The Dybdani Co, USisi Designs, Edwin Jagger and many more.

Companies including Nkuku, Mulhouse, Taschen, Retreat Home and Becky Baur, amongst others, will be launching their latest products for the festive season, making Pulse the perfect destination to plan ahead for the busy Christmas period.

Pulse will be teaming up with leading design, lifestyle and fashion journalists to present the definitive summer, autumn, winter and Christmas buying trends that retailers can apply to their businesses. Retailers will get an opportunity to discover the latest fashionable colours, patterns, textures and products, helping them source guaranteed best-sellers for their stores.

Visitors to Pulse will benefit from an enhanced seminar programme which is being invested in this year to produce a tailored schedule of inspiring talks and workshops. Pulse is working in conjunction with some of the industry’s key influencers to inform and assist retailers across a range of hot topics, including fashion & home trends, e-commerce, social media, merchandising, reviving the high street, PR & marketing, craft, fairtrade and much more.

“First Peeks” is the theme of Pulse 2014. Having previously worked with many important brands such as Guerlain, Design Council and Nespresso, London-based agency, Curious, have brought this concept to life with a new creative for the 2014 Pulse campaign. The new website is now live and pre-registration is now open, entitling all visitors to free entry to London’s only summer gift show. Registration is available at www.pulse-london.com.
