‘Shop Talk’ announced at Pulse

An inspirational and workshop programme will come to the UK’s design-led summer show

Summer’s only design-led gift and home event, Pulse, which is due to take place in London from 11-13 May 2014, is delighted to announce ‘Shop Talk’; an inspirational talk and workshop programme, brought to you in collaboration with The Indytute.

The Indytute are curators of brilliantly inspired lessons and workshops which are held in stores to delight and entice customers into retail spaces; helping businesses create a unique ‘brand story’ to differentiate themselves from their competitors. The Indytute have worked with Selfridges, The Soho House group and Stylist magazine who have all enjoyed, and profited from the Indytute experiences.
‘We want to develop customer engagement by curating customer workshops that amuse and entertain’ says Calypso Rose who is the founder of the Indytute ‘We believe shops should become the hub of social experience and so we work with businesses to get customers to stay, enjoy the space and engage with the staff.’

Taking place exclusively at the show, these short talks present a new and exciting direction for Pulse’s seminar programme.

At Pulse, we want to help inspire retailers, not only with breadth of design and talent on offer, but with inspiring and practical advice that Pulse visitors can put into immediate action. Shopping is exciting and at Pulse, we want our talks to reflect the changing pattern of retail.

These talks will be bite-sized, relevant and delivered by individuals at the top of their game.

Some of the free-to-attend inspired lessons at Pulse will cover the following:

  • BIG brand ideas for small retailers
  • Starting a successful retail business
  • The New PR: How to get noticed by journalists and bloggers
  • Selling through Instagram
  • Using ‘Pop-ups’ to grow your business
  • Great websites on a shoestring
  • Transforming troubled spaces
  • Cashflow: Your accountant can be your best friend!

The Pulse ‘Shop Talks’ line-up, brought to you in collaboration with The Indytute will be announced on the April 4.
