Success at Zuchex Indonesia

Zuchex 2014 Housewares & Gift Fair attracts big retailers and fosters new growth for the Indonesian Housewares Industry

The launch event Zuchex Indonesia International Housewares & Gift Fair 2014 was held 13 – 15 November 2014 at Jakarta Convention Center. It made history as the first event of its kind in Indonesia, providing a platform for Housewares buyers to network and do business over the course of three days.

More than 150 exhibitors from Indonesia joined foreign players from Turkey, Tiongkok, Malaysia, Korea and China.

The show attracted an audience of 3,129 buyers from major retailers including Alun-alun Indonesia, Kumala Home, Ace Hardware, Debenhams, Lotte Mart, The Hard Rock Cafe, The Four Seasons, Carrefour, Parkson and Centro, Hotel Mulia, Kawan Lama Internusa, and many more.

The event provided the ideal business solution for busy industry players, allowing them to catch up with the latest global housewares trends, discover exciting new products to tempt their customers and network with existing suppliers.

Mr Emre Kerestecioglu of Ucsan plastic, an exhibitor at Zuchex Indonesia commented on the event:“It's been an excellent show with real quality over quantity, I've seen some great buyers, no small or medium ones just the major players. I will definitely come back next year. It's been like finding 10 grams of diamonds in an ocean!”

The Tablescapes feature showcased creatively designed table arrangements highlighting up-and-coming dining trends. Designers competed to produce the most imaginative settings which were voted for by the industry at the show and featured products courtesy of Sango Ceramics.

Samuel Wattimena, one of the country’s prominent fashion designers was spotted at the Tablescaping area. He said the program had a very wide appeal; “This program gives real insight to the people,” said Wattimena. He added that the program added positive value to the show and buyers, demonstrating products unearthed from Indonesian culture that inspired buying.

On the last day of the exhibition, the committee announced the winner of the Tablescaping programme. First place was awarded to Sally Joseph and her table setting ‘Chinoiserie Addict’. Zuchex Indonesia also presented awards for; ‘Most Unique Home Appliance’, ‘Best Utility Product’, ‘Best Interior Element Product’, ‘Best Decorative Product’, ‘Most Inspiring Material’, ‘Most Inspiring Technology’, ‘Most Unique Tableware’, and one special category of ‘Most Outstanding Product’.

The growth of the housewares industry directly mirrors the growth of these related industries which we hope will drive the rise of the Indonesian economy. Zuchex Indonesia 2014 has built a strong foundation for the industry to grow even more in the future.”

The committee gave its deepest appreciation to all parties who helped to organise the exhibition.
