Goebel brings 'Madonna' to Christmas

German porcelain manufacturer Goebel has recently launched its new 'Madonna' project in one of the most famous fashion boutiques in Düsseldorf.

The famed boutique 'Jades' worked with the porcelain manufacturer to celebrates its 10th Anniversary and also Goebel's 140 year business run by collaborating to produced the limited ten edition piece.

The design came from the Jades design team, directed by Evelyn Hammerström. Goebel then undertook the task of creating the sculpture of Madonna in its finest porcelain.

The standing Madonna, pious hands folded in prayer and deepened with a floor-length black dress and a wide Cape is protectively around her shoulders, lined bright red.

The cape was fragile and painstaking to create as it features 166  hand-made, delicate porcelain roses.

This Madonna radiates faith, hope and love, humility, gratitude and honesty - and it is said these characteristics are reflected in her delicate facial features.

The piece is fully restricted to just ten pieces, meaning a high demand for those who are interested in the unique porcelain piece.
