Quirky Royal Mug gets Top marks from Top Drawer
A London company have this week been awarded the title of 'Best New Gift' for their quirky and contemporary royal commemorative mug.
Cole of London were announced as winners in this category at the Top Drawer awards as the show took place in London's Earls Court earlier this week. The award recognise eye-catching design across five different product categories.
The winning design was commented by judges to be a 'new twist on a old classic'.
Sarah Cole, of Cole of London commented: "My mug had to have a 21st century feel to it: William and Kate are young, modern and human. To try to portray them as distant and stuffy, dressed in royal regalia seemed wrong.
"The reaction at Top Drawer has vindicated my decision to go ahead: I couldn't be more delighted with the response, and winning the Award for Best Gift was the icing on the cake. I came away with a big order book, and have had people lining up at my stand to look at the mugs."
