Portmeirion Group gets royal recognition

The Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire has presented Portmeirion Group with the Queen's Award for Enterprise.

Directors and staff at the site in Stoke-on-Trent accepted the prestigious award, which recognises the company's substantial growth in overseas earnings and its outstanding achievement in international trade over the last three years.

The Group's export sales have increased by 63% over the last 3 years, adding over £14 million turnover during the period.  

The Company's largest overseas market is the United States, which accounts for 41.7% of the Group's revenues with South Korea the second largest at 19%. New and emerging markets include the Czech Republic, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
