Luxury goods cited as a 'great business opportunity' at Hong Kong symposium

The luxury goods market was cited as a 'key business opportunity' to break into Hong Kong and the Chinese market at a seminar in London earlier this week.

The 'Think Asia, think Hong Kong' symposium held in The QE11 Conference Centre, sought to promote business opportunities fro UK companies looking to expand into the Chinese market.

A host of respected speakers took to the stage to share their thoughts, experiences and vital statistics to empower those looking to expand their businesses into Asia.

Of particular interest to the Tableware market was the notion of the luxury market and the promotion of luxury goods in the area. Going against the assumption that Chinese goods were lacking in such areas, it was said the luxury market is a rapidly expanding growth area in china at the moment.

Speakers at the symposium, including Mr Jack So, Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Lord Green, the Minister of State for Trade and Investment, alongside more consumer known names such as Dato' Prof Jimmy Choo who spoke in a seminar about the creative industries to give his personal account of Hong Kong and UK business relations.
