Alessi announces new Chief Executive
Marco Pozzo takes the reigns as Alessi’s new chief executive
The Alessi Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Marco Pozzo as the company’s new Chief Executive, who took the helm on 12 November 2015.
Born in Biella in 1970, Marco Pozzo brings his extensive managerial experience on an international level to Alessi. Over the last 15 years he has held management positions at the Ermenegildo Zegna Group as Managing Director/Head of the Market in Mexico, Chief Operating Officer for the Greater China Region, as Global E–Business Director overseeing the company’s digital aspects at the Group’s Head Offices and in a retail role as Global Retail Ops Director.
The arrival of Marco Pozzo marks a new phase for Alessi – this is the first time the Italian company has introduced a Chief Executive from outside the family onto its Board of Directors.

Following this appointment the Board of Directors now comprises of Alberto Alessi, President since 2009, will continue his role as head of Marketing Strategy, Communication and Design Management; Michele Alessi as Vice President; Alessio Alessi, Stefano Alessi and Drew Keith as Members of the Board; and Marco Pozzo as Chief Executive.
Marco Pozzo was born in Biella in 1970. He graduated in Economics and Business from Università degli Studi di Pavia where he specialised in Corporate Business. Marco has held numerous managerial positions at international level in Retail, Wholesale, Operations, Manufacturing and E-Business sectors. Over the years he has garnered extensive experience in the luxury sector, beginning his long career with the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, for which he was Managing Director in Mexico from May 2004 to September 2007, overseeing both the production team and the commercial development of the market. Between 2007 and 2010 Marco was Chief Operating Officer for Ermenegildo Zegna Group’s Greater China Region in Shanghai. He also received an MBA in 2010 from the prestigious Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, spending a year at the Hong Kong based faculty. From 2011 onwards, in his capacity as Global E–business Director, Marco had focused on digital business at the Headquarters of Ermenegildo Zegna in Switzerland and on retail as Global Retail Operations Director. On 12 November 2015 he was appointed Chief Executive of Alessi.
Founded in 1921 in Omegna on the shores of Lake Orta, over the course of its history Alessi has produced thousands of objects, many of which have gone on to become icons of contemporary design and feature in numerous international museums. The Alessi universe includes more than three hundred designers from around the world and diverse product categories. The production of the core business, namely objects produced through the cold working of metals, still takes place in the Crusinallo factory. Alessi is now present in the world's main capital cities with 19 single-brand Alessi Stores, 200 shop-in-shop stores and around 3000 retailers. The company ships to over 60 countries and exports represent two thirds of total turnover.
