Arthur Price lanches next-generation cutlery
Family-owned British cutlery and gift company Arthur Price debuts its most important new range in a generation
Arthur Price, the family-owned cutlery and gift company that started out in 1902, unveiled its most important new range in a generation when it presented at both Spring Fair and Ambiente this month.
This signature range is a collection of brand new inspirational classical patterns inspired by the founder Arthur Price, named by his grandson John in the 1960s, and now designed, with a modern take, by the current generations of the family.
Camelot and Warwick are simple yet classical patterns with a modern take available in four box sets and two gifts sets in the new Arthur Price packaging. Using high grade, forged stainless steel, they are available June 2015.
Camelot and Warwick are being hailed as the most important new range of patterns in a generation for many reasons. The journey taken in creating the pattern has crossed two generations and can trace its birth back over a hundred years. Now with new technology to create strong, robust items fused with a modern take on a classical design, this journey through the generations is one that most companies cannot take.
Speaking about generations is straight-forward for current CEO Simon Price; he’s the fourth generation of the Price family and his son James is the first of the fifth to work at the cutlery and gift company. Simon said: “The story is so engaging. My Father John came up with the idea of celebrating his grandfather, our founder Arthur with these names. The current team has now created these ranges that will continue for future generations and I’m very proud of what Arthur Price has achieved and what we want to do in the future.”
Simon continued: “They are appealing to both the British and international markets by successfully using ‘heritage’ yet doffing a hat to ‘modernity’; simple classic patterns that will stand the test of time, perfectly achieving that design utopia of classical and contemporary.”
Combining modern style, classical names and affordability, the new range is perfect for both home use and in the hospitality industry.
Warwick’s intrinsic design features are its elegant stem like handles, bulbous bowls and definitive fork heads. Whilst slender on the eye, this forged collection is designed for optimum comfort in everyday use.
Camelot is clearly appreciated by its beautifully sculptured curved lines which add real finesse to an eye-catching forged cutlery design. Gentle tapering handles are complimented by traditional fork heads and bowls.
