Amazon to present at BHETA forum
Amazon’s category leaders to speak at The British Home Enhancement Trade Association’s next networking forum
BHETA’s next networking forum is to feature Amazon’s Category Leaders, Jeff Wemyss and Oliver Sawers as guest speakers. They will be sharing the latest information on how digital innovation is fuelling the Amazon business and the opportunities that this presents to existing and potential suppliers seeking revenue growth.
The Forum will take place on April 21st and will be held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. It will provide an excellent opportunity for suppliers either experienced in or simply wanting a better understanding of e-commerce.
The new Amazon team intend to build an ongoing relationship with BHETA and it’s members and this initial presentation will include an update on the progress of the Amazon business, an introduction to innovations which are particularly relevant for the Housewares, SDA, Home Improvement and Tools & Garden Power categories, plus the opportunity to network with the Amazon buying team.
Another speaker at the forum will be Decco’s Chief Operating Officer, Charlie Lacey who will be outlining to suppliers the opportunities that seven UK based distribution centres servicing UK High St retailers and garden centres can provide.
Market research experts GFK - will be presenting relevant updates covering all the key industry sectors and providing an interesting insight into the progress being made by e-commerce. In addition, BHETA associate members (service providers) will be on hand to offer advice and support.
And finally, there will be a fascinating insight into the ongoing issue of the exchange rate fluctuations and its impact on the cost of goods post-Brexit. Clive Daley of mdj2 Associates has extensive knowledge and experience from both a retailer and supplier perspective has agreed to share with you his suggestions and practical solutions on how to handle this situation.
BHETA’s housewares sector director, Will Jones commented, “With ecommerce continuing to make a significant impact on the retail landscape and projecting further growth in the foreseeable future, UK consumer behaviour is at the forefront of this digital evolution and Amazon are currently recognised as one of the leading e-tail platforms in the field. The whole agenda is equally current however, so we are expecting a significant turnout.”
DIY and garden sector director, Paul Grinsell echoed this view. “Once again we anticipate this BHETA Forum will be particularly popular – hence our choice of the Ricoh Arena in Coventry as a venue. Previous experience has shown that larger venues really do contribute to creating a bigger industry event that
affords even greater networking opportunities. The event will start at 10.00am with registration from 9.15am.”
Applications to attend the forum should be made to Dawn Clarke of the Member Services Team on email@example.com or 0121 237 1130.
