Company supporting charity
Royal Worcester, one of England’s most well-known producers of fine porcelain, has created a one-off commemorative Royal Birth plate, which will be auctioned to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The charitable organisation, of which HRH the Duchess of Cambridge is Royal Patron, will be hosting a high-profile online auction in a bid to raise vital funds.
Helping families across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridge, it requires funding of £16,000 per day in order to offer care and support to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Royal Worcester, which is now part of leading tableware manufacturer, Portmeirion Group, first celebrated the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first son in July, with the launch of its Royal Baby Collection.
The latest limited edition fine bone china plate has been hand decorated with 22 carat gold and back stamped for authenticity, with an inscription that reads “Limited Edition – No 1 of 1.
The auction, which will be hosted at www.the-saleroom.co.uk
, launched on Friday 15 November and will give the general public a chance to bid for the historic item. The person who pledges the highest amount of money by Sunday 24 November will become the rightful owner.

Phil Atherton, sales and marketing director of the Portmeirion Group, said: “Royal Worcester is renowned for producing exquisite commemorative collections which aim to celebrate some of Great Britain’s finest moments. When we heard about the hospice’s fantastic online auction we were only too happy to be able to produce the plate, which we hope will raise vital funds for this terrific organisation. The piece is highly collectable and we’re confident it will go to a loving home!”
