A colourful year for Guzzini
Spring 2015 brings soft, delicate colours for Italian brand Fratelli Guzzini with the launch of its new collection Iris
Colour takes centre stage at Fratelli Guzzini this season. Celebrating 100 years of Italian design, Guzzini continues to represent Italian identity, history and design. When knowingly mixed, these three elements give life to new proposals based on technological know-how and an in-depth knowledge of the materials used; proposals which meet the high quality standards imposed by the Made in Italy concepts and which are original because they are created by young International designers who have that knack for transmitting innovation.
And, it is innovation which characterizes the new Iris collection as well as the expanded range of products in the Glam and Gocce collections.
Iris Collection: allow yourself to be charmed by colour!
The glasses, carafes, salad bowls, centrepieces, cake stands and napkin holders in the new Iris Collection have been entirely created by Guzzini Lab and produced in Recanati; they are produced using a skilful technical alchemy called co-injection by which pieces can be moulded while simultaneously using materials different in colour and transparency.
In this play of colours all of the shades of the Iris petals come into play as they are embellished by delicate transparency, refined layers and irresistible flashes of colour. The pieces in the Iris collection are available in Wisteria, Orange and Red and can be coordinated with other collections in the Guzzini Catalogue to create table settings that are as vibrant and bright as a mild spring day.
The Iris collection also includes Scratch, a new dinnerware set with six place settings and three place mats created by the visionary minds of Omnia Comunicazione who have taken the Montgolfier, anchor and velocipede of the social imaginary and used them in geometrical decorations in mordant colours like blue, orange and apple green. The same colours and subjects are also used for the synthetic place mats which are easy to wash and store.
The Gocce and Glam collections: new sets of dishes for a table that is always up-to-date
Pastel colours and macramé lace that evoke a carefree joy de vivre artistically characterise the new Romantiche Geometrie and Festa dinnerware sets in the Gocce and Glam collections, respectively.
The first, designed by the Omnia Comunicazione creative laboratory proposes a decor based on lace and flower patters with a touch of Optical style; it is characterised by a coloured line - green for the dinner plate, orange for the rimmed soup plate and red for the fruit plate – creating an additional element for mixing and matching with other elements in the collection or in other collections.
The Festa six place setting set is the result of the innovative creativity of Federica Biasi, a young Italian designer who has chosen Paris as the ideal setting for developing her original ideas. Thanks to its decorative theme, Festa creates a joyful and vivacious circus inspired table setting that intensifies the idea of festivity by animating the plates with a merry-go-round of colours. Both dinnerware sets are in porcelain with dishwasher proof under-glaze decoration so they last over time.
