Jered's Pottery expands
Due to customer demand for the handcrafted artisan wares of Californian-based Jered’s Pottery, the company has set up its own manufacturing facility
Having recently experienced a tremendous increase in the demand for Jered's pottery, the California-based pottery manufacturer, known for using local clay to handcraft luxury rustic tabletop for both independent and five-star restaurants, has set up its own manufacturing facility.
Last October, Jered’s Pottery was approached by a large retail company to design a line of dinnerware for them. Not wanting to design anything that would then be manufactured in China or elsewhere – Jered’s Pottery only uses local clay and resources – the company decided to set up its own manufacturing facility in California.
“We knew we had to be a part of the movement that is bringing manufacturing back home,” says founder and owner, Jered.
Not only does Jered’s Pottery create dinnerware for some of the top Bay Area chefs, including Michael Mina, Michael Chiarello, Daniel Patterson, Dennis Lee, Evan & Sara Rich, Louis Moldanado, but the dinnerware pieces have been featured in Martha Stewart's living, O Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Kinfolk, and The San Francisco Chronicle.
The company’s ethos is as follows:
· Making beautifully handcrafted work from locally sourced materials
· Creating good jobs right here in the good ol' USA
· Building the infrastructure to support other artists
· Becoming as environmentally sustainable as possible (solar-powered kilns as soon as we can manage)
· Having fun, being kind, and helping others chase their dreams
