John Lewis Home sales up

A slight rise in John Lewis Home’s weekly sales figures is down to outdoor living performing particularly well

John Lewis has a rise in its latest weekly sales figures, with Home experiencing a slight rise. 

According to its sales for the week to 8 July 2017, total sales rose by 2.0 per cent at £86.7m, compared to last year, supported by strong Clearance sales.

Home sales were up 0.2 per cent with outdoor living performing particularly well, with sales up 55 per cent - a record for the month of July. As the hot weather and outdoor entertainment continues, so too does the appeal for cocktail gifting - with gin sales increasing by 102 per cent last week.

Electrical and Home Technology sales were up 8.4 per cent with strong Microsoft sales, up 42 per cent, following the recent launch of their new Surface Pro Tablet and Surface Book.
