John Lewis Home sales up

With a surge in sales for cutlery and Cookshop, British department store chain John Lewis announces sales are up in the Home division

John Lewis Partnership has announced its sales for Week 15, the week ending May 13, 2017.

Total sales for the week were £74.1m, up 1.3 per cent on last year.

According to managing director Paula Nickolds, Home had a good week of sales, up 5.3 per cent year-on-year. Furniture in particular performed well, up 18.1 per cent, driven by double digit growth across both fitted furniture and beds. 

Cookshop and cutlery also both had positive weeks, with sales rising by 5.9 per cent and 4.4 per cent respectively, and lighting had a beaming week, up 9.1 per cent.
