John Lewis Home sales strong

John Lewis reports a strong week for Home with sales up 7.7 per cent on the same week last year

John Lewis Partnership has announced its sales for Week 26, the week ending July 29, 2017.

Total sales for the week were £78.6m, up 2.5 per cent. Both online and branches saw an uplift, with online sales up 7.2 per cent.

According to managing director Paula Nickolds, Home had a strong week, up 7.7 per cent on the same week last year. Customers were investing in their bedrooms once again with sales in bed linen up 19.2 per cent and beds and bedroom up 17.5 per cent driven by the last week of Special Buy sales..

Fashion sales were also up 1.5 per cent with the biggest increase in Beauty, Wellbeing and Leisure where sales rose by 5.8 per cent.

Electrical and Home Technology sales were down 0.5 per cent. However, sales of DIY home products, such as the HONDA Petrol Ride on Lawnmower, were up 67 per cent.
