The pairing marks an milestone in the tabletop and housewares industry, combining Gates’ design expertise and industry knowledge with Gibson’s production and merchandising reach. Gates joins Gibson as VP of Creative & Merchandising to lead and enrich Gibson’s leading design and product development abilities.
His keen knowledge of the industry is gained from owning and operating a ceramics factory in West Los Angeles in addition to decades of successfully marketing the universally-admired Laurie Gates brand. These experiences give Gates a unique perspective that has makes him industry’s leading home fashion experts. His bold design choices feature happy pieces with vibrant colors, drawing inspiration from both his rural roots in Alberta, Canada and his current life in Southern California.
