Lubkowski family acquires full ownership at LSA International
Monika Lubkowska-Jonas, daughter of co-founder, the late Janusz Lubkowski and creative director at LSA International, has recently acquired full control of the contemporary premium glassware and porcelain brand
Tony Saunders, joint co-founder and managing director with Janusz for over 40 years, retired at the end of 2013. Tony’s son, Duncan, has also decided to move on this Spring after 27 years in the business to pursue other interests outside of the company. The Saunders’ family has therefore sold its shareholding back to the company which is now 100 per cent owned by Monika and her family.
Continuing the brand's long history of working with skilled craftsmen and pushing the boundaries of traditional techniques to create Monika's unique range of contemporary designs in porcelain, wood and handmade glass, the company’s characteristically strong and enduring relationships with its highly select supplier base will be further developed.
LSA International is also making increased investment in its brand equity. Richard Smedley, appointed managing director in May 2013, has put in place a new senior management team and is rolling out a series of strategic initiatives that will see significant enhancement of the brand's positioning and prominence in the months and years ahead. These initiatives include a further strengthening of its relationships with key retail partners through increased, mutually cooperative measures to reinforce LSA International’s positioning as one of Europe’s foremost premium brands.
The Board and staff at LSA International would like to thank Tony and Duncan for their invaluable contribution to the business over many years, and wish them well in their respective retirement and future pursuits.
