Marvel brings superhero style to housewares
Disney Consumer Products has announced plans to build out Marvel's housewares programme with branded small appliances and home accessories
Disney Consumer Products (DCP) has announced plans to build out Marvel’s housewares programme with new initiatives for branded small appliances from industry leader Select Brands and others, in addition to new home goods and décor from existing partners.
The new products mark Marvel’s first major launch into the small appliance category to help meet the ever-growing demand for creative home goods inspired by Marvel’s top Super Hero franchises.
Marvel has always had a strong presence in the home category with sheets, towels, and other linens featuring the top heroes, but with the addition of small appliances Marvel is expanding its efforts to provide innovative and unique ways for fans and young adults to interact with the Marvel brand at home.
“We are always looking for new ways to expand our presence in the college and housewares markets to meet the growing demand for innovative new home goods, beyond the traditional linens, that capture the essence of our characters and franchises like never before in this category,” said Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel at Disney Consumer Products. “These new products will offer our fans creative and exciting ways to showcase their fandom through their everyday style both in their homes and at college.”
Fans will soon be able to furnish their homes and dorm rooms in heroic fashion with an array of Marvel branded small appliances from Select Brands, including Avengers themed waffle makers, featuring images of the iconic Super Heroes on the cover, and the opportunity to emblazon one’s waffles with Thor’s Hammer, Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s helmet and Hulk’s fist. Select Brands is also developing toasters, single serve coffee makers, and more. College students can now express their Marvel style at school with Robe Factory’s new Iron Man themed mini-fridge perfect for dorms.
Marvel is also doubling down in the hydration category with new innovative drinkware including heat reactive travel mugs from Vandor featuring Spider-Man, patent pending sip-n-glo cups from Silver Buffalo, warm and hot beverage bottles from Thermos, and ergonomic teen and adult hydration water bottles from Zak Designs featuring such characters as Captain America. Other Super Hero-inspired home goods being showcased include kitchen utensils and aprons from Icup and a line of flameless candles from Northern International featuring Marvel’s Avengers and Spider-Man.
