Petite Friture launches first tableware
French design manufacturer Petite Friture celebrates the beauty of porcelain with its first-ever tableware collection launched at Maison
The French design manufacturer Petite Friture, created in 2009, has just launched its first tableware collection, Succession, which was presented at the latest edition of design-led show Maison.
The Succession collection celebrates porcelain as a prime material for tableware, lending itself to use in contrasting ways, with a raw matte exterior surface and a glossy enamel interior.
Available in black or white, Succession is manufactured using a special moulding process using shapes wrapped in felt and rope. After firing, organic forms and traces of detail are left on the final pieces.
Aside from its stylish and original looks, the collection promises high resistance to heat and thermal shocks, and is dishwasher and microwave safe.
The collection comprises eight pieces, including three sizes of plate, a bowl, a salad bowl, a pitcher, a tea cup and a coffee cup, all available in black or white.
Amelie du Passage, founder and artistic director, says: “In what is another first, we launched a range of tableware in addition to the rest of our range, but without diluting our brand identity. We relied on the traditional know-how of Revol, a French company that has been specialising in porcelain kitchenware since 1768. The Succession’ range of tableware was designed by Franco-Swedish duo Färg & Blanche.”www.petitefriture.com
