Portmeirion Group teams up with Walpole

Royal Worcester and Spode manufacture hospitality collections from the heart of Stoke-on-Trent

Portmeirion Group has announced a collaboration and licensing agreement with Walpole Fine Bone China Co, an established high quality fine bone china manufacturer and a key supplier of ceramics to the finest hotels and restaurants in the UK.

The agreement offers two established and centenary brands, Royal Worcester and Spode, which are steeped in history and ceramic heritage, to produce stunning collections readily suitable for fine dining.

Walpole has many years experience in making the finest English fine bone china tableware and, as a result of this agreement, a number of historically important Royal Worcester and Spode tableware collections and ceramic shapes will be reintroduced, with a key focus on hospitality use.

These include Warmstry, Garrick and Stafford shapes, which are re-vitalised and augmented by new pattern development, especially created for the hospitality sector serving afternoon tea and fine dining services.

"We are committed to continue developing our brands and to making them relevant to new and existing markets. Working with Walpole Fine Bone China Co will allow us to expose both, our Spode and Royal Worcester brands, in a positive way to consumers experiencing a fine hospitality service. We are delighted with this collaboration and to the exposure it will bring to our Group," says Phil Atherton, sales and marketing director, Portmeirion Group.
