Robert Welch wins two design awards
Two products by iconic British design company Robert Welch Designs have won prestigious Good Design 2016 awards
British design-led company Robert Welch secures Good Design 2016 awards from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design for two of its products.
This is not the first time that the British brand has been recognised by an internationally renowned awards body; over the last decade the Cotswolds-based company has been awarded Red Dot product design awards for cutlery as well as enjoying recognition from the
Excellence in Housewares Awards panel across their product ranges.
Robert Welch Designs has a history of particular success in the Good Design awards; winning in previous years with the Signature Kitchen Collection (storage jars, cookbook and tablet stand, scissors and stand) Signature salt and pepper mills, Signature kitchen utensils, the Signature ABS knife block and Facet and Bud cutlery.
2016/2017 2016 winning products are Oblique Bathroom Accessories and Scribe Desk Accessories (pictured). All products have been designed in-house by the Robert Welch design team.
An Unprecedented Success
Speaking after the awards Rupert Welch, the managing director said: “We are thrilled that our products have been recognised by the Good Design jury. It's an honour to see different categories of design being appreciated and recognised by a panel of true design enthusiasts and experts. “This year’s award-winning products are a real team effort and represent the perfect cross section of innovation and aesthetics.’
The Good Design awards have been in existence since 1950 and are considered to be the most prestigious global awards for new product design and graphics. For 2016, the Athenaeum received submissions from several thousand of the world's leading industrial and graphic design companies.
