Sagaform window display winner announced

Scotland-based The Scandinavian Shop wins top prize in Sagaform's UK window display competition with its winning arrangement

To celebrate the launch of Sagaform’s A/W 2016 collection, UK-based Forma House, which represents Sagaform across the UK, invited UK-based Independent retailers to enter a competition to design a Sagaform themed window.

Prizes include the chance to win a £2,000 spa break to Sweden, or a runner’s up price of a £300 Sagaform carriage paid order.

Retailers up and down the country entered, making the judges task all the more difficult to choose a winning design! All the window images were submitted to the judging panel without any store titles to ensure impartiality.

In the end, The Scandinavian Shop based in Helensburgh (Scotland) took top spot and Salcombe Trading in Bath came a very close second.

Peter Kindh, retail and export manager who formed part of the judging team at Sagaform commented on the initiative: "It was a tough job deciding on a winner, but for the Sagaform team here in Sweden it was hugely exciting to see so many of our UK retailers join in the fun, by creating some really eye catching displays with a wonderful Scandinavian twist! We would like to thank everyone for entering - especially when every inch of a window display is at a premium to help sale product in-store during such a key trading period."

The Competition was initially developed and overseen by the team at Forma House who exclusively represent and distribute Sagaform here in the UK. Simon Maghnagi, business development manager at Forma added the following:

"From a branding perspective, this was a fantastic opportunity for us at Forma to increase visibility of the Sagaform name on the high st and this ultimately reflected in an uplift of sales during the competition period which was great. We now look forward to developing more such collaborations with our retailers throughout 2017."

Lucy Paterson, owner of The Scandinavian Shop was totally taken by surprise to be chosen as the winner. It was a late entry and there were no expectations at all to actually win first prize.

Lucy says: "This is only the second thing I have ever won in my life and I am totally over the moon. To be honest, I am not sure who is more excited about hitting the spa between myself or my husband Ross – it’s a tight contest! Being a Scandinavian themed store, we have a huge passion for Swedish design and cannot wait to explore the Country further and of course take a well-earned break from our business too. Thank you for choosing us Sagaform!’

Lucy and Ross now look forward to their spa break at the Kosta Boda art hotel in Kosta – Sweden, later this year.
