Schoenwald wins Red Dot Award

Hospitality tableware manufacturer Schoenwald secures Red Dot Award for Product Design for its recently-launched Islands collection

Exceptional, organic design language for exclusive and creative buffet presentations: the design concept of the new collection Islands from Schoenwald convinced the Red Dot Design judging panel, securing the collection the Red Dot Award in the ‘Product Design 2017’ category.

The Red Dot is the biggest and most renowned design competition in the world. With over 5,000 submissions from around 60 nations, renowned design and communication experts award prizes for the best creative achievements every year.

The collection Islands comprises 11 pieces in the fine, soft shade BoneWhite. Just like Allure, the first Schoenwald collection in Noble China, Islands captivates at a glance with its delicate body and unique resilience. The Islands collection is ideally complemented by buffet products from the new table trend programme Playground.

Islands bears witness to the trend towards greater authenticity and a return to traditional arts and crafts. In the world of hospitality, more fresh, seasonal dishes are being prepared than ever before. There is also a desire for more and more new forms of presentation. With this new, practically-oriented design concept, Schoenwald provides culinary artists with opportunities to quickly and conveniently switch and change and compose product groups in unique and wonderfully intuitive arrangements. The collection, made in Germany, also sits happily on the dinner table. In line with the family-style-dining trend, it celebrates eating together and perfectly showcases the centre of the table, where dishes are served and shared with everyone.

"We’re very pleased about the Red Dot Award for our new Noble China buffet collection,’ says Matthias Schöffel, marketing manager at Schoenwald. "The award proves that we are on the right track with our commitment to creating new collections for professional users that are characterised and made popular by their high-quality designs and materials."

Islands was already impressing visitors at the spring trade fairs Ambiente and Internorga. "Islands is a clear and conscious step away from learned, geometric arrangements and leads to a new emotionalisation of the way in which dishes are presented. The collection was one of the highlights of our trade fair stands. There is great interest from trade visitors," says Matthias Schöffel.
