Focus on forests
On trend for Christmas-themed tableware this year are forest-themed motifs and decoration
With Christmas relevant tableware currently being sourced by independents, we look at the main decorative trend taking centrestage this Christmastime.
Enter the forest and forest animals like deer, foxes and rabbits, which are particularly popular right now.
Director for Dining segment, Ambiente, Messe Frankfurt, Thomas Kastl says: “Nature is a persistent trend and forest animals and birds, in particular, continue to be popular images on tableware.”
Vice president of trade shows Ambiente and Tendence, Nicolette Naumann, agrees: “Currently, the snowy forest with flora and sauna is very popular.”
Ashdene’s new comprehensive and collectable festive collection Enchanted Forest features mystical patterned deer nestled amongst sprays of ornate and luscious forest foliage, while Rosana has launched La Foret, a rustic-chic tableware collection featuring forest motifs in the muted tones of colder seasons with gold accents.
At Exclusively Housewares, two new Christmas tabletop collections were launched from Tradestock. Perfect for creating a special festive ambience Enchanted Forest features a winter wonderland of stylised hearts, snowflakes and forest wildlife in crisp white and velvety red, the range including a pair of latte glasses, a pair of Irish coffee glasses , a FreeForm® Tray, a set of four placemats and a set of four coasters.
Finally, the theme of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, along with all the forest motifs and creatures, is a huge theme for Villeroy & Boch working its way through several of its collections, including Nostalgic Oraments (Snow White and dwarfs tree decorations, including wood animals) and Winter Collage – think numerous decorations and figurines on the theme.
