Villeroy & Boch designs bowl for Royal baptism
Villeroy & Boch create exclusive handmade bowl for the baptism of Her Royal Highness Princess Amalia
The Grand Duke family in Luxembourg recently celebrated the baptism of Princess Amalia Gabriela Maria Teresa, who was born on June 15th 2014, as the daughter of His Royal Highness Prince Felix de Luxembourg and his wife Her Royal Highness Princess Claire de Luxembourg.
For this special occasion, the attending guests were given an exclusive present: a handmade bowl decorated with a monogram. Together with the Royale Couple Villeroy & Boch developed the filigree décor for the small bowl which is made out of Premium Porcelain and is based on a traditional shape with nostalgic holes specifically reproduced for this occasion. The artfully designed monogram of the little Princess, which centers the bowl and is made out of 18-carat gold, was applied by hand.
Following the “méthode traditionnelle” Villeroy & Boch produces in Rollingergrund amongst the own collection in limited edition and collectors figures also commissioned works. Almost 250 years ago the brothers Pierre-Joseph, Jean-François and Dominique Boch started the production of ceramic tableware in their “Manufacture Impériale et Royale” in Rollingergrund which was generally called “the Luxembourg way” and was located not far from the Luxembourg fortress in Septfontaines.
The Villeroy & Boch S.à.r.l. Luxemburg is located in Rollingergrund which is located in Luxembourg City and also the main gateway for the professional business of the Hotel & Restaurant Division belonging to Tableware Division of Villeroy & Boch AG.
