Villeroy & Boch scoops even more awards

Following multiple awards for its Food Passion products last year, 2017 sees Villeroy & Boch pick up even more awards for extensions in this concept

Villeroy & Boch’s popular Food Passion concepts – Pasta Passion, BBQ Passion, Soup Passion - and its Clever Cooking collections secured numerous awards last year, and this year sees extensions of the Food Passion series garner even more accolades.

What’s more, the Villeroy & Boch brand received the Platinum Favourite Brand award at this year’s Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt in February – the highest award that is only given to companies and brands who have had at least four products named ‘KitchenInnovation of the Year’ between 2015 and 2017.

KitchenInnovation of the Year 2017

At Ambiente 2017, three Food Specials products were awarded for being particularly consumer-friendly by combining material quality and functionality with an attractive design. The Pasta Passion lasagne dishes and the serving set received the KitchenInnovation of the Year® consumer award and were a part of the special Solutions. Products with a high IQ presentation, which showcases clever kitchen and household solutions.

The entire Soup Passion range, consisting of special practical crockery for a fuss-free, stylish soup experience, was named KitchenInnovation of the Year®.

The star of 2017, however, was the new strainer/serving dish from the Clever Cooking range. This innovative strainer, which can be transformed into a stylish serving bowl quickly and easily, received the KitchenInnovation of the Year award as well as the coveted Golden Award – Best of the Best as the product with the highest overall ranking in the Accessories category.

German Design Award 2017
BBQ Passion, a modular range with plates and platters in various shapes and sizes as well as practical accessories for a stylish BBQ experience, was also a winner in 2017.

Both the large steak plate and the XL serving plate received the German Design Award 2017, which the German Design Council awards for good design.

The German Design Council, which was established more than 60 years ago, has more than 200 design-oriented German companies as members, and entrants can only take part when nominated by the German Design Council, one of the Foundation members or one of the economic ministries of the German federal states. The entrants are evaluated according to strict criteria and guidelines and awarded for international pioneering design.

“We’re delighted that so many of our Food Specials products won such renowned awards and distinctions again this year, awarded by consumers as well as expert juries,“ Sandra Ehlen, Product Manager Food Concepts at Villeroy & Boch, says. “We are also extremely proud that Villeroy & Boch received the Platinum Favourite Brand award for its tableware.”
